Échanges avec les voyageurs
I do not impose on my guests, so guest interaction is as much or as little as you like. We have taken past guests on bike rides and walks, and had them over for a backyard BBQ. We have picked up and dropped off guests from the airport, train station, RV and car rentals, etc. We are happy to give you tips and advice on your stay in Alaska, point you toward fun things to do, places to go, my favorite restaurants, etc. And we will tell where not to go and what not to waste your time and money on. We live 100 feet away, so we are always available if needed.
We want our guests to have a great stay. If there is anything we can do to make your stay better, just ask. Schedule permitting, we are happy to provide free pick-up and drop-off to the airport, train station, RV and car rental agencies, etc. If you'd like for us to shop for you beforehand or have anything in particular ready and waiting, just let us know. And we offer early check-in and late checkout at no additional charge when possible.
Check-in is 3 pm, check-out is 11 am. If you need a different check-in or check-out time, please let me know and I will let you know if I can accommodate you.
No smoking inside the apartment. If you smoke, please smoke outside away from the front door, and please pick up and discard your cigarette butts.
Personal marijuana use is legal in Alaska, and I am fine with that, but that too must be smoked outside.
If you fish please don't bring your fishing gear, or fish you caught inside (unless its already cleaned and vacuum-packed), and please do not clean fish inside. I am happy to store any smelly gear in my garage for you.
No candles or open flames.
No extra overnight guests without approval.
Off-street parking is provided for up to 2 cars, directly in front of the stairs leading up to The Lazy Raven, and delineated by a yellow line painted on the driveway. Please do not block the large white garage door.
I have the AirBnB "strict" cancellation policy. However, if you need to cancel or change your reservation months ahead of time I have no problem with that and will give a full refund (less whatever AirBnB keeps). I have never had any problem with any alteration or cancellation requested by any guest.
At checkout I request that you fill and run the dishwasher, leave keys on counter and lock the door behind you. If you have the time and inclination to start a load of laundry, that would be greatly appreciated by my housekeeper, Tammy.
I will be as social with you as you like. Some guests like to say hi, some guests might like to hang out or go for a bike ride, and some guests like to be completely left alone. I'm fine with any of those -- just let me know.
Pets on approval only. No cats (I love cats, personally, but they just don't work in a vacation rental). If a pet is allowed there is nightly pet fee and the guest agrees to take full responsibility for any and all damage, harm or inconvenience caused by or attributable or associated with the pet. This includes reimbursing me for lost rental days.
Thank you, and please let me know if you have any questions.
Si vous annulez jusqu'à 7 jours avant le voyage, vous recevez un remboursement à hauteur de 50 %. En cas d'annulation au cours des 7 jours précédant le voyage, la réservation est non remboursable.
I grew up in Virginia but I've lived all over -- New York, Oregon, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, Massachusetts. I came to Alaska for the first time about 25 years ago, and I've now lived here about 22 years. It's an amazing place and I'd love to share my thoughts on the best places to go and things to do. I like to hike and camp and backpack, and bike the local trails (where I often encounter moose).
When I decided to become an AirBnB host I spent a lot of time thinking about what I want in a vacation rental -- great service and communication, a place that is clean, neat, modern and well-equipped, a host that quickly and completely deals with any problems that arise, and good information about the best places to go and things to do. So I put my focus on my guests, and providing them with great service and a great place. It's been a wonderful experience, and I have really enjoyed meeting and talking with each new guest.
