Beautiful huge classic federation home with sparkling private pool. Perfect outdoor living. Ideal for large/extended family. Sleeps 10. Ten minutes from beaches, Opera House, city, SCG & airport. Walk to cafes and restaurants.

We have made a last minute decision to go away for 2 weeks from NYE. In order to facilitate a last minute booking we are renting the house at a lower rate than last year.

Imagine a late al fresco breakfast on the verandah, the kids swim in the pool ...

Le logement

The house is a Sydney federation heritage home set on 700sq m with a gorgeous solar heated pool, private sunbathing terrace, huge shaded garden verandah with Weber Bar-B-Q . The proportions are grand - large rooms, high ceilings, timber floors, stained glass windows.

Ideal for a large family or an extended family. There are 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 separate living areas, a huge open plan gourmet kitchen, an office, large laundry and a huge backyard. There is ample street parking.

The house is on 3 levels.
- Upstairs is a huge master bedroom with King bed and walk in wardrobe/dressing room. There is a large TV lounge/living room an office and a bathroom. This upstairs area can act as a private retreat for parents.
- On the ground floor is the kitchen and the main open plan living area, 2 more bedrooms, a laundry and the main bathroom with spa bath.
- Downstairs is a huge children's bedroom and playroom (sleeps 4).
- The living area has full width folding glass doors that open the lounge onto a shaded sandstone outdoor dining patio and Bar-B-Q area with a 4 burner Weber gas Bar-B-Q, a big backyard and a solar heated swimming pool with sun bathing terrace.

There is free WiFi, 2 TVs, ducted air-conditioning throughout, and the whole house is constructed to be cool in summer and warm in winter.

All the fittings are first class from the large gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar to the dishwasher, coffee machine, large washing machine, tumble drier and BarBQ.

The house is energy efficient. The pool is solar heated and during summer the water temperature is about 28-30 C.

We were group of 11 people 10 adults and one was in good condition but there were few things which can't be ignored. Initially when we checked the rooms ,there were only three bedroom where adults could sleep that means 6 adults in three bedrooms, one bedroom had 2 bunks and room downstairs had 4 bunks and that room didn't have any privacy. So one couple had to sleep in those bunk beds Without any door in that room for 5 days. Although the owner was willing to give us an air mattress but we didn't want air mattress for the value of our money. One bedroom's bed frame was broken so that couple had to sleep on the floor for two days then we managed to fix the bed temporarily. Owner arranged handyman to contact us but we were not home always to get it fixed. Also fridge was full with some stuff which we could use but there were so many medicines in the fridge and we couldn't fit our own stuff. Rest of the small things I can ignore but they should have advertised 6 adults and 6 children not 12 people so we know that how the rooms are and how the beds going to be. Over all my rating is 5 out of 10

It is a great shame that Nitesh has chosen to write a negative review when the main thing that he complains about was clearly explained in the house description on the Airbnb website and was further confirmed in emails with Nitesh several weeks prior to his party's arrival. Yes there are 6 bunk beds - yes the website description describes 6 bunk beds - yes the website photos show 6 bunk beds and yes this was once again confirmed weeks prior to arrival. So to turn up and complain that there are 6 bunk beds makes no sense. Yes one bed appears to have had a problem with it - this was fixed by myself within 5-minutes of returning to the house - No tools required. One bed section had simply been pulled out too far. It needed 5 minutes and a little common sense. However we arranged for a handyman to come out on New Years Eve and fix the problem for Nitesh - he chose not to take that offer. We offered to pay for a double inflatable mattress - Nitesh declined that offer. We purchased over $300 of fresh produce (eggs, bread, milk, butter, vegetables, grapes, cherries), drinks (wine, champagne, beer) and condiments (mustards, ketchups, tartare, garlic etc) and put them in the fridge as a 'Welcome' for Nitesh's party - along with instructions that these were for their use. At no stage did he thank us for doing this. Instead he has chosen to complain that we also left some of our families medications that require refrigeration - these took up one small shelf inside one door of a huge double fridge. My strong recommendation is that in future he read the house description. If you need a house that has 6 double beds don't book one that has 6 bunk beds and then complain about it - equally don't complain when every attempt to provide solutions is declined. We go to great lengths to ensure that the house is provided in immaculate condition and I strongly believe in the mantra that the consumer is always right - however I am at a loss to understand how we could have done any more for this client.

A great home in a great location with an awesome pool and air conditioning! The perfect holiday experience! Brendan made life seamless and the handover was great. Really loved our time in Sydney!

I am originally from the UK and have been in Sydney for 27 years. We occasionally rent out our home when we are away on holiday ourselves. We are an extended family of 2 parents, 5 children and mother-in-law - so the house has been designed for light, space, community and privacy. You will find there are big areas where you can enjoy being together and there are private spaces where you can escape and enjoy your own company. Most of all the house has been designed for easy outdoor living. We love it. I am sure you will too.
