Enjoy your own quiet, cozy 550 sq ft. apartment with full kitchen in the lower level of a private home with off-street parking. It's a brief walk to shops, restaurants, theatre and events in this historic Gold Rush town. We're on a usually quiet street (local events on some weekends can increase noise and traffic slightly). Easy in-and-out, no stairs. Children welcome. Important: Nevada City charges a 10% occupancy tax that I've included in your price. No need to pay extra!
Comfortable 1 bedroom/1 bath apartment, for 1 to 3 people (4, if with children) with a queen bed and futon couch (Pack'nPlay available). The flat is in the lower level of a home (quiet, single occupant). The ceilings are low (81"; one crossbeam descends 5-1/2"). The apartment has its own entrance.
Guests are asked to book a minimum of 2 nights. Monthly rentals are available. A small pet is possible, if quiet and well behaved (pet deposit required).
This is a fabulous location in the heart of an old Victorian gold-mining town that makes a car unnecessary for most your needs.
Your host is a professional writer, teacher and world traveler, and is likely to be available to assist you for much of the year while writing her next book. Otherwise, the apartment is overseen by a very capable couple. We’re glad to recommend sightseeing, walks and local eateries that will make your stay extra special. Our level of interaction is up to you and your privacy is respected.

Generally, someone will look in on you to make sure everything is okay. Your host lives in the house above you and is generally available for any questions or needs. Otherwise you can expect complete privacy as you have the apartment to yourself to come and go as you please.
I offer special weekly/monthly rates during the winter rainy season as the house is in a flood plain and cancellations might be required if there is a major storm with flooding.
Arrival: After 3 p.m. Departure: 11 a.m. Absolutely no smoking inside the apartment! This is a quiet neighborhood and I live upstairs so loud music, noises and parties are strictly forbidden. Children welcome. A small pet is possible upon approval, with a pet deposit.
I am a published writer, teacher and world traveler, living in one of the most welcoming and interesting small towns in the U.S. I've lived in England, Mexico, Germany and Japan and traveled extensively on six continents. A former college professor, I am a professional Tarot consultant and author, teaching Tarot around the world as a tool for self-development and personal insight. It's my pleasure to provide a comfortable place for people to settle while vacationing or visiting the area. I also welcome those involved in local courses and events to use this as your homebase. I offer privacy and leave you to your own devices, but I'm available in my home upstairs when you need to borrow a cup of rice or want suggestions on where to go and what to see.
