Located on beautiful M-22 in Leelanau County, this rustic Bed and Breakfast lodge offers three guest rooms with private baths. West Bay is just across the street. Featuring food from the Grand Traverse Pie Company.

Le logement

This home originally belonged to Larry Wakefield, a local mink farmer, historian, and writer. We added on, maintaining the character of the original home, which was built in the 1940's with cedar paneling, inside and out.

Great location in a bright, clean house and delicious breakfast. Marie was a wonderful host.

Our experience was great. While we screwed up on the arrival (almost completely our fault), we still were able to get a good nights sleep and the breakfast was amazing. Being from Michigan, the Cherry-Vernors Pie was so good and close to my heart. My partner also loved the whole experience, as he is from Florida originally.

Oh, I'm glad to hear that! And, interestingly, I JUST now (three days later) received your email through airbnb, that you were going to be lat(URL HIDDEN) Sheesh!

Marie was very straightforward with information. We got there a little later than planned and Marie let us know how to check ourselves in. Our room overlooked the bay and was large and comfortable with the ac thoughtfully left on. Breakfasts are delicious: homemade quiches, pancakes, egg sandwiches, fruit and granola with great coffee and organic loose teas. We met other nice couples staying the weekend also. Marie and Ted are very sweet and knowledgeable about the area. The house has been redone and is reminiscent of a 1940s lodge with lots of warm wood and is very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I apologize for the misunderstanding, Andrea. I will definitely make that more clear in the listing.

I can't say enough good things about Marie and Ted and their B&B. The home was immaculately clean, and had wonderful amenities. The bedroom we stayed in was well appointed, with a very comfortable bed and a beautiful view. Having a private bath was quite nice as well. Our hosts were always available to give us advice about the area and things to do, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. And the breakfast was out of this world. I let Marie know ahead of time about my gluten allergy, but she was not deterred. She proceeded to lay out an amazing spread every morning, including gluten-free pies and keesh. I never left hungry in the mornings! I really enjoyed our stay at Innisfaire, and will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Marie and Ted were wonderful hosts and their place is gorgeous! They were very friendly and welcoming. Their house has beautiful wood everywhere and great views of the bay. There is a hot tub and a very nice deck. Marie makes a delicious quiche for breakfast. The bedroom was super cozy and comfortable.

I am a social worker turned family law attorney. My husband, Ted, is a retired plastics engineer and builder. He built much of our house, which is now way too big for us, as our two daughters are grown. One daughter lives in Berkley, Michigan. The other daughter lives in Chicago, Illinois. We are originally from the Detroit area, but we went to high school in Traverse City. We love living in Traverse City!

Ted and I went to the same high school in Traverse City, and then followed each other to various colleges, before we finally started dating each other, 30 years later. I am a MSU Alum. Ted graduated from CMU.

My older daughter went to the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. My younger daughter attended Michigan State University, Loyola University, and the Adler Institute of Psychology. In short, we cheer for both U of M and MSU!
