Our apartment 'Oleandro',the largest apartment on our agriturismo farm, has stunning views of our vineyards, and tuscan rolling hills as far as the eye can see. Spacious and airy, it has 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and sitting room.
The Oleandro apartment is a house in itself, even though is a part of a building, shared with other apartments. It is perfect for a family who needs the space, and needs three bedrooms, often not found on these 'agriturismos'. It comfortably sleeps six.
Accès des voyageurs
Of course there is access to the swimming pool, which is shared with other guests. However, Sugame is still a quiet place and the people who stay will be people like yourselves - people who enjoy the country, the views, the farm and appreciate the atmosphere, family feel and history. The 'piazza' outside your door, although has table and chairs specifically for you, is not exclusive to yourselves - you will see the Miceli family pass by, or perhaps one or two other guests.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
Catrina will always be at the farm to welcome you and to register you. She will be glad to help you - give advice on places to go, where to eat, what to see. Sometimes there will be time to be given a quick tour of the winery. Just ask!
In the colder months, the gas used for the heating is charged as an extra. You control it yourselves with thermostat and timer. It costs €3 per cubic meter. You might use 15, 20, 30 cubic meters in a week, depending on how much you switch it on. The only other extra payment is a tax for the 'comune' of Greve, which is €1.50 per adult per night, payable to Sugame at your departure.
'Do as you would be done by.'
À partir du 19 mai 2018 - 15 septembre 2018, la durée minimum de séjour est de 7 nuits.
Catrina was a primary school teacher in London, before moving to Italy in 1992 on a whim, to learn Italian. She met Lorenzo, who was a student cultivating olive trees and producing olive oil. She decided to stay in Italy permanently because of Lorenzo, and in 1999 they were given the opportunity to take a farm in Tuscany, which they have now been running for 15 years.
Lorenzo, reserved but utterly charming, produces delicious, organic, Chianti Classico wine. Catrina runs the agriturismo with 8 apartments, bringing up their 3 children along the way.
Having people stay in the apartments on the farm, has become a way of life, and Catrina will make you feel welcome, and will be happy to give advice.
In 2014 Catrina and Lorenzo acquired a house - Pump Cottage - in Dorset, which they are now letting out for holiday rentals as well as the apartments in Tuscany. They have reliable and kind friends who take care of it in their absence and see to their guests' needs.
