Welcome! My home is a wonderful oceanfront cottage set on a half-acre in a small fishing village with ocean views galore. It’s peaceful and quiet with a beach at each end of the village and access to the strand below. Breakfast is also included.
I'm also a Certified English Language Teacher (CELT) so if you would like some individualized English Lessons or an English Language immersion stay, let me know and we can discuss.
Imagine yourself waking up hearing and seeing the Atlantic Ocean from your bedroom which is suitable for a single person or a couple. (For one guest, my policy is women only and a two night min. and max.) For your comfort, there’s pure cotton bed linen and towels, and feather pillows and duvet. There’s a wardrobe, and a small chest of drawers. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet and the ever changing ocean and sky.
Although beautifully remodeled to have some of the modern conveniences of the 21st century, the older part of the house still retains the charms of a seaside cottage of yesteryear with picture rails and fireplaces in the bedrooms.
The dining room/sun room with 20’ of windows gives you have a front row seat of the ocean with 180 degree views of the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and on a clear day the 12 Pins of Galway. It’s a lovely way to slow down and watch the ever changing landscape. In the summer, it’s also great to sit outside with a picnic and watch the sun setting in the west.
There's a large, updated kitchen with a ceramic stove top and convection oven, washer and dishwasher. You’re welcome to use the kitchen or make tea or coffee.
There’s central heating to take the chill off first thing in the morning or upon your return. You also have an effective fan heater to keep your bedroom toasty and there are additional heaters to warm the dining room and kitchen, if needed. Underfloor heating keeps the bathroom pleasant. A peat burning Stanley stove can also supplement in keeping the cottage cosy.
The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren National Park are nearby as well as loads of beaches and cliff walks. This is a great base to explore unspoiled west Clare or to visit nearby counties Limerick, Kerry or Galway. Shannon Airport is just an hour away.
If you enjoy walking, hiking, surfing, playing golf or relaxing with a pint or a cup of tea while listening to Irish music, you’ve come to the right place.

Échanges avec les voyageurs
I’d like to be here to welcome you to my home and to show you around.
Once, you've checked in, I will give you a set of keys and you’re welcome to come and go as you please.
Dependent on my schedule, I will either be around to make breakfast or I will have all the makings for your breakfast. There will be fresh o.j., granola/muesli, toast, fruit, organic yogurt. I like making omelets /omelettes with organic eggs plus a variety of fillings (cheese/mushrooms/ tomatoes) and like to buy organic or free range food, whenever possible.
Let me know if you have any special dietary requirements.
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them.
I like people and am happy to talk with you. However, this is your trip/vacation/holiday so the amount of interaction is up to you as I want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay.
I'd suggest a two night minimum stay so that you have a chance to relax, slow down and soak up your stunning surroundings and breathe in some fresh sea air.
My home is open to one or two guests. For one guest, my policy is women only (2 night minimum and maximum).
If you use the kitchen, please leave it as you found it and cooking to be finished by approx. 8:30 p.m. The bathroom and kitchen are all tile, so as I've learned you need to be careful with glass or ceramics. Let me know if anything breaks, isn't working or if you don't know how to work something.
Check in time is 3 p.m. to about 8 p.m. (We can discuss a time that suits you.) I work part-time. If I'm working, then check in will around 6:30 p.m. Check out time is noon.
Having recently moved to the west coast of Clare after many years in the US, I’m delighted to share this beautiful spot with travellers coming to Ireland. This was my grandmother’s house and I visited every summer. (My parents were both Irish and I grew up in London.)
I love the natural beauty of the landscape here, and particularly living so close to the ocean. The ocean and sky are ever changing and quite phenomenal.
I also love travelling and meeting people from all over the world and learning about new cultures. So now that I’m living here, it seems like a very natural thing to invite travellers to stay and experience this special place too.
Like most people, I’m fairly eclectic. My background is in video and communications. I enjoy the Arts – a good movie, plays, art galleries, reading and writing. I also enjoy nature, walking, gardening, camping in US National Parks is great too. Other interests are popular culture, music and dancing. I love learning. I’m also a foodie; and enjoy a good meal, a good glass of wine as well as good company.
So if you’d like to unwind in a lovely place by the ocean that feels more like a home away from home with a more relaxed vibe and more space than a B&B or hotel, welcome!
