Village Villa Chambres d'Hote is the perfect place to escape the noise of Kathmandu and enjoy a peaceful rural atmosphere.

Our house has three rooms for rent. Two of the rooms share one toilet and the rooftop-room has a private toilet. We have Wi-Fi available for all the rooms. You can enjoy a great view from the Kathmandu Valley, as well as the sun and fresh air in our nice rooftop-terrace while watching authentic rural Nepalese life going on around you. We live on the ground floor, so our guests have their own private space on the first floor and roof-top.

Included in the price is a Nepalese breakfast (chapatti, eggs and tea).

Our house is very peaceful, the only noises you will hear are the quacking of ducks and bleating of goats!

To come to our place, you can take a bus or a taxi from Kathmandu or Bhaktapur to Changu Narayan. Then you can ask the villagers about the Dhruba's house or Village Villa, it's a big blue house! You have to go down some stairs, pass a big tree near a school, and continue until you see it! Don't hesitate to ask in the village or to call me!

Changu Narayan is a beautiful village with a nice view over the Kathmandu Valley. It's a peaceful place to spend a few days, enjoying the authentic Nepali village life.

Changu Narayan is the home of the oldest hindu temple (4th century).
Surrounding by the forest, the Manahara River flows beside the hill. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Visnu and held in especial reverence by the Hindu people.

In the village you can find lots of traditional handcrafts, made by the villagers.

Namaste! My name is Dhruba, my family and I welcome you to our village, Changu Narayan, located about 20 km from Kathmandu, home of the oldest Hindou temple of Nepal. It's where I grew up and spent my life with my wife Menuka and our children, who are now studying and working. We like to meet new people and share with them. Here you can experience the authentic life of the village and discover the Nepali culture. Our guests have their own private rooms, bathroom and balcony, and you are welcome to join and share with us as much as you like. Some guests before learnt how to cook Nepalese dishes with Menuka, an amazing cook! If you are interested in gardening, I have a large vegetable garden and would be happy to talk with you about the farming practices of the village. If you are interested in some specific part of Nepalese culture, like art or music, I can help you find the best local places and meet local people. I'm very happy to show guests around the village and guide them, I was a trek guide so I know the best walks nearby. I speak English, and I'm learning French and Italian. Some volunteers are also coming sometimes to help in our garden, in the local school and/or in the village, so if you are interested in staying longer and doing some volunteering, let me know and I'll share the details with you! Hope to see you soon !

Durant votre séjour
I speak English, Nepalese, Hindi and currently I'm learning French.

I will gladly show you around the village, the temple and the surrounding areas. I will show you the best routes for hiking nearby, like in Bhaktapur, Boudha, Kopan, Sanku and the temples of Vajrayogini, Nagarkot and Pasupati. I'm a trek guide so I know some good places and hikes!

If you are interested my wife can teach you how to cook some traditional Nepalese dishes such as Dal Bhat and Momos.

Please note that this is a rural Nepalese home, so we can have electricity cuts during the day. We have most of the time hot water, if not, we'll be happy to heat water for you to shower.

You can have as much or as little interaction with our family as they like. We are here to make sure that you are comfortable, feel welcome, and get a taste of the peaceful rural life of Nepal. We truly believe in sharing our rich culture with our visitors!
