Private second floor apartment with two bedrooms in an 1850s farmhouse. Recently renovated & separate from the rest of the house where our family lives. Separate entrance & off-street parking. Walk on sidewalks to Henniker village & New England College. Short drives to area attractions: Pat's Peak Ski Area (5 min), Mount Sunapee (26 min), Concord (30 min). We are enjoy hosting. Le logement
We are working on renewing and updating the house and yard. In warm weather especially guests are welcome to share our yard. (Check back for updated pictures in the spring.)

Accès des voyageurs
You enter through a private entrance into our breezeway/mudroom. We have things stored there, but typically enter the house through a different door. At the top of your stairway there is another door. Both the outside door and the door directly into the apartment lock. We have a yard that is a work in progress. You are welcome to walk around our yard! During the summer we have a small vegetable and herb garden. Fruit bushes and trees will be planted this spring! If you would like to see the attached barn please let us know and we'd be happy to show you around.

Check in time: If we don’t have anyone leaving the morning you arrive an earlier check in may be possible. Feel free to ask. If you arrive earlier and want to leave your bags in the entryway you are definitely welcome to do that. Check out: You are welcome to stay until 11 AM. If no one is coming after you a later check out is possible. Just ask! And you can store bags in entryway if that helps you after 11 AM.

There is no official kitchen, but there is a large mini-fridge with a freezer, a coffee pot and microwave. We have some coffee options for you, as well as a large selection of tea (herbal and caffeinated). Plates, silverware, glasses, teacups and coffee mugs, along with napkins and a few dish towels are also provided. Our house is meant to be lived in. We are trying to start out with the "basics" and then add things as we receive feedback. Our home is a work in progress - and we are excited to have you visit!

***COVID pandemic cleaning procedures***
We have recently increased our cleaning procedures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is our procedure for cleaning our apartment after a guest leaves. This procedure is for our safety and the safety of our guests.
- We ask our guests to leave the windows open (when seasonally possible) when they depart to air out the apartment.
- We will stay out of the apartment until the evening after guests check out, to allow any potential airborne particles to settle out of the air.
- We will enter the apartment in the evening, with masks on, to clean and sanitize.
- We will clean the apartment first, removing any trash and dirty linens. We will then sanitize all the light switches, doorknobs, sink, shower handles, toilet, and tables, and any other high-traffic or high-touch hard surfaces.
- After the sanitizing is complete we will set out clean linens and towels.
- Laundry will be done using the highest temperature recommended for the fabric.
- We will not be accepting incoming guests on the same day that a guest departs. For example, if a guest leaves on a Monday (check-out time is 11AM or earlier), we will not accept any guests for that Monday night. The earliest we would allow a booking to occur would be Tuesday, where a guest could check in no earlier than 3PM. This means there will be at minimum a 28 hour buffer between guests.
- We will make a box of sanitizing wipes and a bottle of hand sanitizer available to guests, so that they can complete any additional cleaning that would make them more comfortable. We did not have a cleaning fee before COVID-19, but have added one to cover these additional expenses.

We are about a half mile west from Henniker village. We have a couple of pizza shops and other restaurants. A cafe is also open most days of the week until about 2 PM. Henniker Pharmacy is a great place to visit for both medical items as well as essentials and local products. Other stores just outside of the downtown: Ace Hardware, Harvester Market (groceries) and Henniker Farm & Country Store. Our section of The Oaks is one-way: if you are coming from town, The Oaks veers off to the right at a triangular commons that has a sign for The Colby Hill Inn. Our driveway comes up quickly after you turn onto The Oaks (2nd driveway on the right).

In 2017, our family moved into an 1850s farmhouse with two guest rooms that we don't currently have a need to live in. We spent a year fixing them up and now we'd love to have you stay with us!
