The iconic Red House of whitewater rapid “red house hole” is an airbnb. Secluded on the best part of the Cache La Poudre River across its own bridge spanning whitewater, south facing decks surrounded by gardens. It’s a complete isolated vacation with 1/2 mile of private whitewater. Go rafting fishing hiking climbing yoga on your own private wilderness This place was created to enjoy the river by professors, wilderness guides, musicians, and artists. Music venue Mishawaka nearby. But no parties!

Le logement
The Red House is clean, quiet and isolated 14 acre property along the Cache La Poudre River. There is an entire private vacation waiting there for you to discover. (owner cabin on lower property not included) You have to read all of below to understand. In summary, there is great scenic walking in the groomed part of the property, hiking behind the property, fly fishing with private access directly in front of the house, climbing and rappelling on the rock face and gulch, rafting and kayaking right in the front yard, flower gardening, and numerous large meditative yoga pose rocks throughout the property.

The House

(Now proudly with STARLINK wifi 2000 Mbps by SpaceX, one of the first 10,000! 🛰 📡 )

Secluded across it’s only private bridge with no neighbors. The house itself has a winding deck under giant pine trees connecting the master bedroom to the original front porch of the house.

The front of the house features gardens with numerous rock terrace planting levels and stone sculptures 🗿with roses🌹, lilies 🌷pear, sunflowers 🌻 cherry 🍒 apple 🍎 trees, tiger lillies🌺columbines, all built by hand by the past occupants of the Red House. 🕊There is a literal bed of flowers.

The Property

The Red House property 🌄 is a spiritual place with its iconic location and views along the Cache La Poudre River, white water rapid, Red House Hole, is right in front with its beautiful giant river boulders and other water features throughout the river are viewable, and the roar of the water can be heard, from the house and decks. The renowned and infamous “killer bridge” is your access point to the property. This bridge goes right through white water and is a known river activity location featured in posters and magazines. The private driveway is Main Street for walking, and biking all in the property. The long drive way follows just off the river passing grooves of pine, and a natural river washout. Its continued with a big grassy area under large cottonwood and pine trees suitable for small gatherings.

Waterfall gulch behind the house is actually the highlight even over the 1/2 mile private whitewater river access, red house hole, washout area, killer bridge, the rock face, gardens, deck, and house grounds itself. Follow the gulch out the backdoor of the house to the rock face behind the house 🏞. Which has a fantastic flat seating or laying area on top and good bouldering, climbing, rappelling 🧗🏼‍♀️; Or hike the ridge for the secret route up through Grey Rock Meadow to the face of Grey Rock ⛰itself. The gulch is a true ancient trail and best feature of the property. You follow animal paths, 🐾 past the lower pool through old growth cedars 🌲 where the stream meanders over solid rock and true Rocky Mountain nature, to a 6 foot waterfall that you have to climb up to carry on, be careful - this is true undisturbed wilderness! At the back of the gulch about a mile back you find the upper pool and bone tree which is decorated with the bones of deers 🦌 and goats 🐐downed by mountain lions 🐆 in the area. If you look carefully just past where the stream meanders you’ll find a mountain lion lair behind a big pine tree 🌲 noticeable by the ancient scratch marks on the back of the tree. This area is where animal bones are found and Buddha looks down upon it.

Mountain sports:

There is fly fishing 🎣 the entire length of the river front property. Brown and Rainbow trout come out in perfect sandwich size!

Kayakers and rafters frequent the area of the river near the house known as “pinball” above “killer bridge” and the famous “red house hole” below, and are all part of the fun.

Rafters take your pick- all the local white water guides pass by, maybe you can convince them to drop you back off on your ride down from The Narrows?

In the late summer the area below the bridge becomes a great swimming 🏊🏽 hole.

Find the meditative yoga rocks🧘‍♀️ on the way to the wash out area below the big tree and private places on the property. The big wash out area is water covered about half the time. When the water recedes you find treasure such as old paddles, and items from those who flipped🏄🏼‍♂️in the water and beautiful round granite rocks 🪨 worn by time and nature.

Several new sports and music have been inspired by the property! Like extreme downhill sprinting (not for the meek) white water river scuba🤿 and skiing (you face up river) frozen river sail skiing and sledding (high wind and jump the holes)! And famous paintings and songs have been created at this place❗️

From the bridge the water glitters in the morning and evening light during the summer, just as it does at Prague’s St Charles bridge!🌌

And as the water lowers in the fall sandy beaches appear along the river in some places🏖 Bring a lawn chair, sunbathers!

The property's great privacy allow you to be clothing optional 🐥The property borders Roosevelt National Forest on all sides!

Find the Buddha, nirvana and get 10% off a future visit if you take your picture with Buddha and post it in your review! 🧖🏻‍♂️🧖‍♀️

❤️The Red House inspires!❤️

Photograph, write, paint, sculpt, and play music on the deck, stack rocks and plant in the gardens. The garden are intended to have a collaborative feel for you! Please add to the rock stacks, create new flower beds, water the gardens from the always flowing stream, plant, paint, swim, sing and create because this is how the red house came to be! We want you to be a part of it! You might think we’re kidding but you’ll see! Ha!
