A cosy cottage 70 km from Tallinn in the beautiful Lahemaa National Park right by the sea and beach. Nearby places are the Võsu beach town (7 km), the famous Käsmu fishing village (9 km), beautifully restored Palmse and Sagadi manors (15 km) etc.

Le logement
This is a custom built two-storey summer cottage by the sea and near the beach. Upstairs is a bedroom with two larger windows on either side, two couches (183 x 80 cm) and a roof window. Downstairs is a cosy room with a fireplace and a sauna with a separate washing room (please inquire about using the sauna separately). If necessary, the upstairs room can accommodate three additional guests, who would be sleeping on mattresses (183 x 64 cm, personally I have found the mattresses to be very comfortable).

Downstairs also has a fireplace, which you can use to create a cosy atmosphere or heat the house if needed. Combined with the fireplace, some cold drinks and a quick dip in the sea, this is the closest to heaven on earth you can get.

If you arrive by car, I can provide you with GPS coordinates. If you arrive by bus, the easiest way is to take the bus from Tallinn to Loksa (where you can also shop for all the food and anything else you may need during your stay). If my schedule permits and I am at the cottage, I can also come meet you there with my car to take you to the cottage, however in general I encourage my guests to consider renting a car, as that allows more flexibility and gives access to beautiful sights nearby, which are too far walking or bicycling.

Accès des voyageurs
You'll have access to the downstairs room with a fireplace and the upstairs room with two sofas (plus up to three extra mattresses if needed) and the washing room. Use of the sauna can be agreed upon separately (please ask me, if interested). Even though the house does not have a full kitchen, it has a refrigerator, a steamer, a magnetic induction stove (in case you don't feel like using the steamer), an electric water kettle, a toaster, a microwave plus a coffee pot is available upon request, so you can basically cook any food you want. Nearby you can take hikes in the forest or take walks to the beach, with breathtaking views to of sun setting into the sea in the evening or sunbathing and swimming during the day during the summer months.

Please note that we may need to use the washing room or sauna during your stay but will notify about it in advance and will do that that with the least amount of inconvenience for you.

Autres points à prendre en note
NB! Important information for autumn until spring. I am at the cottage usually only during summer months. Originally I wasn't planning on hosting outside of that, but I could do it on the following conditions:

- You'll be able to to find and get to the cottage yourself (I can provide GPS coordinates and a G Maps location). When I am at the cottage (usually from late June to August), I can pick up people from the nearest town with my car is my schedule allows it, but since outside of those times I am not there, you'd need to find a bus to take you to the nearest bus stops of Eru or Tammispea or have a car of your own (which is the recommended method).

- You'll be fully self-sufficient at the cottage. The house should have all the basic things you need (kitchen appliances, a washing room, fresh water, beds, blankets, pillows etc), but just in case, it is recommended that you take with you some fresh drinking water and also some backup firewood from any larger supermarket (they are usually sold for about 4 euros per bag). When using appliances, please use only one powerful electric appliances at a time (like water kettle, water pump or stove), because using two or three high wattage appliances at once may cut out the power from the small house and then it can only be restored from the big house, which is locked since we are not there.

- Also I won't be able to clean the house after you leave, so I may ask you to do some basic cleanup (taking out the trash, sweeping the floor, unplugging the refrigerator, emptying water containers etc) before you leave.

If all of this is ok with you, I'd be happy to host you in the cottage house.

During summer, other people at the cottage besides myself may include people from my family.

Please note that there is no running hot water in the cottage. However, the smaller house has a sauna with a huge hot water kettle, which once warmed up with firewood, can keep the water warm for up to two days, so it is always possible to wash with warm water. Cold water is available at the push of a button (pumped from a well in the yard) and is safe to drink, although it may have a yellow tint (due to swampy areas nearby). If you prefer your drinking water completely colourless, you can also purchase bottled water in nearby towns of Loksa or Võsu. Instead of a water closet, a traditional outhouse is ready to serve. I can set up temporary shared wireless internet from my smartphone (usually with an OK connection), although I don't have permanent WIFI internet installed yet.

If you come to the cottage via the town of Loksa, you can do your grocery shopping right there, so no need to bring groceries from Tallinn for example. You can find one grocery store right across the street from the bus station (currently closed for renovation as of May 2019). There is also another grocery store if you walk 100 metres back towards Tallinn, then turn left and then turn right. You can comparison shop if you want, since the other shop may have a slightly different selection of groceries or discounts. Apart from these relatively larger grocery stores, you can also find various smaller stores along the main street to your left and right, if you walk back towards the sea.

The sea is about 200 metres from the two houses and safe to swim in. There are also some 3-4 small and private sandy beaches nearby which you can use for sunbathing or staying by the sea for the whole day if you wish. The National Park of Lahemaa (where the cottage is situated) is an absolute beauty of untouched nature, with beautiful mixed and coniferous forests full of all sorts of berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and lingonberries, which are perfectly safe, free and legal to pick) and mushrooms (most are safe, but check with a guidebook or my mother before cooking and eating any), wildlife (you may even spot deers, foxes, hedgehogs and rabbits from your bedroom window in the evening) and friendly private beaches.

I have compiled a list of my favourite and best things to do and see further from the cottage (you'll probably need a car) in a guidebook which you can see at the very bottom of the listing page for the cottage. You can move the map around with your mouse and click on the icons to see my recommendations. Additional things to do and see near the cottage house can be found in the house manual, which you can read upon arrival.

A photographer / writer / traveller / IT enthusiast / lawyer / generalist, I thrive on reading, writing, discovering and experiencing the world. CURRENT MISSION Separate the unimportant from the important, then start doing the important in order of importance. ABOUT ME Passionate about getting organized, becoming disciplined, life-long learning and improving myself physically and mentally in every aspect in order to be all I can be. Sports - daily push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups should pretty much cover it. And cycling, although that's really mostly for transportation. I've also been into squash, football/soccer and mixed martial arts, although the ability to practice has lately been severely limited due to time constraints. Learning - ideas, methods, theories, approaches, strategies. And then practising what I've learned. Specifically this applies to working out, healthy living, friendships, business, digital technologies, photography, oh who am I kidding, nobody reads these : ) Books: manuals, how-to's, summaries, best-of's but best of all - large format coffee table books about art, history, evolution, paleontology, cosmology, photography, design, anatomy, movies, 3D popups, technology, computers, popular science etc. And audio books - I guess I'm just too dumb to read. Music: contemporary symphony. Club and dance. And then that slow-dance love-making music all those radio-stations play at night : ) TV: Documentaries. News. 60 minutes. CNN and Discovery. Horizon and Nova. MTV and FTV (heh just testing you:). 'Yes Minister' and 'Yes Prime Minister'. 'Dragon's Den', 'The Apprentice' and 'The Apprentice UK', 'The Amazing Race', 'America's Next Top Model' and 'Australia's Next Top Model'. And I never missed an episode of 'Sex and The City' : ) Movies: action, passion, suspense, surprise and love. You got'em? I want'em! "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "The Matrix", "Cruel Intentions", "The Gone Girl", "Fight Club", "Star Wars" original trilogy, "Before Sunrise" trilogy, "Interstellar", "Godfather" 1 and 2, "Se7en", "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Die Hard" (the ultimate Christmas movie), "Wall Street", "Atonement" aaand the list continues : ) Cuisines - high carb in the morning, high protein in the evening, low fat throughout the day, anything that's both healthy and tasty fits the bill. Humour - dry/sarcastic, clever/quick witted, friendly. Fashion - alternative, casual, contemporary, minimal. Smoking - no. Drinking - very seldom and only socially.
