This beautiful, newly remodeled home was built in the early 1900’s. The daylight basement has a family room, two bedrooms, laundry room, and a bathroom with walk in sauna. The first floor has a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and full bathroom. The second floor has a large master suite and bathroom with jetted tub and a second large bedroom with a half bath. This home is located in a scenic location with beautiful views of trees, mountains, and wildlife.

Le logement
If you like wildlife, fishing, skiing, or hunting, or just quiet serenity then this is the place for you. The Deyo Reservoir is only 1/4 mile away and Bald Mountain Ski Hill is only 20 miles away. This is a great home for a family get together. There are five bedrooms with a total of seven beds, to include two couches with pullout beds. We have a BBQ grill for your use, a propane fire pit to enjoy in the evenings, and we even have a jet tub in the master bath on the second floor and a sauna in the basement. It truly is a great space if you’re needing to get away from it all and relax!

Emplacement

Weippe, Idaho, États-Unis

The house is out in the country. You can see other homes, but the nearest house is a half mile away. The small town of Weippe is about 5 miles away and Orofino is 26 miles away.

My husband and I are both professionals. Randy is a Forestry Professor for the University of Idaho and I’m a Curriculum Director for the Moscow School District. We raised three amazing children in this home while I taught First Grade at Orofino Elementary School and Randy served as the County Extension Agent in Orofino. In 2009, I was in a head-on collision and my life changed dramatically. The initial prognosis was that both legs would be amputated at the knee and the injuries to my brain would keep me from ever returning to my love of teaching in the classroom. However, by the grace of God that was not how my story ended. Following 37 reconstructive surgeries to my face and both feet, I learned to walk again, the injuries to my brain healed, and I went on to obtain my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. This house serves as a beautiful reminder of how the amazing community of Orofino supported our family during my recovery. Local construction workers poured a ramp for my wheelchair, knocked out walls and revamped the layout of the first floor so that I could more easily access rooms. They raised money to help with medical expenses and sent cards and words of encouragement to Randy and I. So there is a special place in my heart for “this old house”. Some of the hardest moments in my life occurred here, but some of the most beautiful moments in my life occurred here too. Because I was in a wheelchair I couldn’t climb the stairs to the second floor or the basement. This was impossible to accept because I was determined to get my life back and not allow my circumstances to keep me from doing what I had done in the past. I decided that if I couldn’t walk, I would crawl and in the morning when it was time to wake my son for school, I would strap on my knee pads and crawl to his bedroom in the basement. I learned to vacuum on my knees, to make beds, sweep, mop, answer the door.... on my knees, because it was when I prayed on my knees that God gave me the strength to fight! I learned that the only obstacles I really faced in life were those obstacles I perceived in my mind. Five years after my accident, my husband and I started a major remodeling of “this old house”. We did all of the work ourselves and it took us a few years to complete, but we are so very proud of the outcome! This home is so beautiful and peaceful that we decided that we wanted to share it with others. So if you are in need of peace and tranquility, we hope that you will come and be our guest!
