Secluded yet minutes away from Fort Collins, Co. You have your own historic cabin! Serene & peaceful. We aren't the "bagel in the fridge" kind of place! *Note:* Our place is RUSTIC and nothing compares to it, as we live on 16,000 acres, but only 19 miles from Fort Collins. A river runs through and eagles fly overhead! Fall asleep to coyotes and great horned owls at night. No city lights, so the stars and celestial activity each evening---AMAZING! Dogs/Horses welcome w/ 4xtra fee.

Le logement

It is you and ONLY you that visits. We do not have anyone else on the property and cater to you solely. The vastness and beauty that surrounds you is breathtaking. Our bunkhouse has a brand new Serta, double bed with Aspen frame and a small, but adequate bathroom. A/C unit in window for hot summer days. There is a front living room with stool, chair and desk so that you can work if you wish as we have satellite, wi-fi. There is not a land-line nor TV. Radio and CD player is built into the sauna. The hot tub is a 8 man tub-sparkling clean. Fire pit is relaxing in the evenings. You may use one of our three bikes which have been recently tuned up and ready for a tour of the 16,000 acres of open space. Down the road is a gorgeous lake. Waterfalls, baby horses, cows and pronghorns are often seen, as well as a variety of beautiful birds. Fall asleep to clean mountain air and the sound of the coyotes in the distance. A great horned owl and bald eagle frequent often! Our cabin is relaxing and serene, yet it is 150 years old and is RUSTIC---not the Hilton, but they don't allow horses either!

Accès des voyageurs

You have the entire cabin and our modern, main cabin sun-room to enjoy your breakfasts in. Hot HEARTY breakfast served promptly at 8 a.m. each morning!YOU HAVE A HOT TUB AND PRIVATE SAUNA AS WELL!!!
Pets: You may bring a dog but it will have to be kept on leash the entire visit and in our 12 X 12 dirt-floor kennel in the barn at night or the fenced pen. It cannot go inside of the guest house! We charge an extra $20 a night to bring a pet. You may pay upon arrival for your pet to stay. (NO PETS allowed inside of bunk house.) We have an adequate 12 X 12 stall in our barn for your dog to stay overnight. We also have a pen for a horse with water, but that would be an x-tra $25 dollar charge per night. All pets MUST have current vaccines and this must be sent through e-mail BEFORE bringing your pet onto our property. NO EXCEPTIONS to this.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

You can text us at anytime, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), yet will see us only for breakfast, then the place is yours to explore. We are not the "hand-holding" type. We give you ultimate privacy and also enjoy our own.

Autres remarques

This is NOT a place for the aged or young children. Yes, we have had infants who are unable to walk stay here. If you child can walk, it is not a safe place for them. We have a river that runs through the property. We are an original homestead where pioneers lived. We have redone everything to make it modern, but it is still RUSTIC. It has a lot of history, and character. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful. If you need TV, CD's, electronic everything, this is not the place for you! (yes, our internet works great and so does Verizon wireless!) The bathroom is tiny and the shower is a plastic insert. This is due to the cabin being built in the 1880's. (we added indoor plumbing..haha) Yes, it has baseboard heat, heated blanket, (for chillier eves) or a/c window unit for Summer. Storm windows and a storm door as well. VERY tight and QUIET! The scenery is fast, and yes there are critters. (raccoons, owls, eagles, white-tailed deer, mule deer, pronghorns, and coyotes) Our nearest neighbor is miles away. The vast scenery is breathtaking.

You will not hear noise of any kind while here. We are normally asleep by 11:00 p.m. and ask that the hot tub is not used after that time. (It is located at the back of our residence in an outdoor courtyard) We do not allow smoking or pets as we have yellow labs, horses and two barn cats. (no animals are EVER let into the guest cabin!) The whole time we were there it was like we were part of the family. Conversations over meals, walking the dogs around the property, suggestions of what to do in the area; it was all very lovely. The cabin was cool and comfortable to sleep and be in - although we spent most of our time out and about during the day.

This artistic mountain sanctuary in scenic Livermore is rustic, cozy and quaint. This place is off the beaten path. The mountain views are spectacular. Karen and Al are friendly and wonderful hosts who brought us cheese, crackers, grapes and wine while we were sitting outside taking in the scene. Next morning we were served a delicious breakfast in their sunroom at the main house which has picture windows offering mountain views. They are the best hosts we have experienced in our travels.

This is a great place to stay, with beautiful scenery within driving distance. We also where able to drive to snowy mountain in Wyoming which is about hour and half away. Beautiful log cabin located within driving distance to either Estes or Snowy mountains (about 1 1/2 hours to either). Also located close to Fort Collins, which we drove to in the evening for dinner :). Cabin is located about 1 1/2 miles off the main highway so easy commute to everything. Al & Karen are wonderful people who are welcoming and very easy to talk to during your stay. Karen makes some wonderful breakfasts and Al can give you some wonderful information about the area. Truly enjoyed talking with both. They are not intrusive and allow you to come and go as you please. They where truly a great host! The cabin is a great little piece of history. Just something enjoyable knowing you are staying in a cabin that was built by the frontiersmen. We also love the modern amenities (sauna) they have added to the place.:) the only downside is your located only about a mile and a half off the main highway, so not as rustic or secluded as thought but that is also a bonus, easy driving to many places :). We truly enjoyed our time at the cross creek ranch. It's a great place with beautiful scenery and wonderful hosts. We will be returning in the future.

The property was exactly as advertised, a quiet getaway on the edge of civilization. Our hosts, Karen and Al, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable; Karen even provided us with a host of snacks and wine as a treat in the cabin. Fort Collins is a 19 mile drive away, but you can find plenty to do around the ranch (e.g., hiking, biking, great local fare).

Your were perfect guests and are happy you enjoyed our place. You are obviously very educated as we were impressed you even knew about "water rights" and things we thought only us "ranch people" would know. Stephanie and Drew are a beautiful couple and left our place immaculate. We appreciated you both! Thank you!
