Are you ready to get out of the house, yet? This is a lovely, tall house on 2.3 acres in a safe and quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is cavernous and the living room and bedrooms are warm and comfortable. The house is among 23 beautiful wineries and some of the most beautiful covered bridges in the country. We are 15 minutes from Lake Erie, and just a 3-minute drive from Route 90 which will take you into Cleveland. Come and see us!

Le logement
We have upgraded the property such as a new state of the art heating and cooling system, water softener, paint, carpeting, and a handful of personal touches. The driveway and landscaping have recently been repaired and beautified. The rooms are cozy, the kitchen is large, and the beds are comfortable. Privacy shades have been added to the shared spaces and darkening shades added to the bedrooms. It is a relaxing and peaceful place to be. Hi-speed wifi is available. Netflix and Amazon Prime are available on both televisions in the house. A washer and dryer are available for your use. Shampoo, Conditioner, and soap are also available. We have cleaned out our closets and drawers to make room for you. Coffee with creamer and sugar is also available in the kitchen. Disinfectants and sanitizers are available throughout the house. Suggestions are not only welcome but encouraged. The things that make this house a pleasant place to be are due in part to input from guests like you!

Accès des voyageurs
You are more than welcome to access and use all of the spaces in the house with the exception of a small room in the basement which we are currently using for storage. The spaces have been cleared of our personal belongings. Make yourself at home!

Autres points à prendre en note
We are required by Ashtabula County to collect a 5% Lodging tax and now by the Harpersfield Township to collect another 3% for a total of 8%. To make it easier, we would like to do it through the resolution center at the beginning of your stay. You will receive a request from me for the tax and I will keep that as a separate line item in order to pay the county. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to simply factor that into the nightly rate. Let me know if you would like to do that another way.
Also, to be transparent and straightforward, I have not and will not add any additional fees such as cleaning fees, service fees, deposits, etc. except for the aforementioned tax, which I have to keep separate from the price. The cleaning costs are and always will be included in the daily rate.

Regarding Reviews: In short, we want you to have a 5-star experience! We are lucky to have a fastidious person preparing the house in between each guest and if there is a problem we will make it right.
One of the things that those of us who are new to Airbnb are advised is to create a listing that matches expectations, including pointing out imperfections. In a good-natured way, the listing points out some of the things we are working to improve. On the other hand, many things have been updated, including carpeting, painting, a water softener, and a new shower and toilet off the main bedroom. We not only welcome but encourage feedback from our guests. If something isn't right, we want to know since we are not near the home. Some guests choose to do this privately. A couple have chosen to do it publicly after they have left, which is their right. Either way, it only makes sense that reviews be based on the price and the expectations set in the listing and not on some other standard. We keep the price low for a home this size because we want it to be used and enjoyed while we are away. Please let us know if something isn't right and don't worry about hurting our feelings when it comes to giving your feedback during your stay. Some of the things we are aware of. Others we may not have thought of.
Enjoy yourself here and we hope you appreciate the house as much as we do. We're glad you are here and look learning and growing with everyone who makes this place their home away from home.

Geneva, Ohio, États-Unis

Nice, quiet and very private, family-friendly neighborhood. The home is within 3 minutes of Route 90, 4 minutes from Spire Institute, within a 3-15 minute drive from about 26 wineries, within a short jog of the idyllic Harpersfield covered bridge, one of many covered bridges in Ashtabula County, including the Smolen-Gulf Bridge--the longest covered bridge in the country! While it is in the countryside, you will not be far from civilization. You are 2 left turns and one right turn from Route 90 and can travel to Cleveland in 45 minutes. Downtown Geneva is just 8 minutes away, and the larger Madison, which has everything from Walmart to lots of tasty restaurants is another 8 minutes from there. Grand River Academy is 6 minutes away. You will be just a 20-minute country drive from Amish Country. It is the 4th largest Amish community in the country. There is an outstanding restaurant in nearby Austinburg called "The Butcher, The Farmer, And The Chef", which is high-end and outstanding cuisine. For the kids, there is Adventure Zone in Geneva-On-The-Lake.

A recent article in MarketWatch describes Geneva as the No.#1 "off-the-beaten-path" winery area in the country. Ferrante Winery and Laurello Vineyards, within a 4-minute and 3-minute drive respectively, won prizes for 4 of their wines in The 2020 Great American International Wine Competition. Feel free to check out the guidebook on our page for more suggestions. There is also an Ashtabula County guidebook and brochures on the table near the front door.

Hello -- My name is Greg Ladd and we're delighted to welcome you! I grew up in Connecticut, went to Elon University in North Carolina and lived in Japan for 13 years from '91-'04. I love baseball and my job meeting students and families from all over the world. We lived at this house for just over a year while I was working out there and made lots of improvements to it. I now live back in Connecticut with my wife(from Japan) and two sons, 17 and 14. We spend Thanksgiving and Christmas at this house and plan to get out there for a while in the summer.

We are not living near the home. If you have any questions or issues at all, I am available by phone, Skype, Line, WeChat, etc. Someone I know will also be there to help if needed. We will make sure we are connected and that you are comfortable with the situation well before you arrive. I will not be available in person, but a good friend will be nearby and will either hand you the key or put it somewhere where you can easily find it depending on when you arrive.
