My house is so central to Brighton. Everything is within ten minutes walk, yet the road is lovely and quiet, as it's two roads up from the main road.

COVID update. None of our rooms are self contained, so we can only accept guests who are working or training in Brighton until May 17th when normal business can resume. Hi, my name's Andrew and I used to be a headteacher in London. Now I'm a writer and screenwriter working from home. I want guests to feel comfortable and safe so we practise social distancing, have individual towels, hand sanitiser, tissues and wipes in each room. The house is a five minute walk from the train station. Within ten minutes, you can walk to the beach, the North Laine, The Royal Pavilion and the Lanes. The train journey to the Universities is nine minutes. The train journey to Gatwick is thirty minutes and an hour to London. I love Brighton and keen for visitors to experience all that the city has to offer. I became an Airbnb host in April 2014 and have hosted over eight thousand guests and absolutely love it. If you are coming for a hen or stag do or intend to be out later than one in the morning then I suggest you book somewhere else as I do not want other guests' sleep to be disturbed. I have four rooms available. At the top of the house is my Seaview Attic Room which has its own bath, wc and sink and is a double room. Next to that is my Disney Room. It has a double bed but better for a single person as it's my smallest room. On the first floor are my Library Room which has a double bed and all my books and my Butterfly Room which can be a double or twin room. There are Sharpies on hand to colour in the wallpaper. The shower room and wc are on this floor. This is what Meg said January 2018 'Andrew is the kindest and warmest person to have ever welcomed us into their home. He’s so kind and generous, offering above and beyond hospitality and is always more than willing to offer advice on things to do / places to eat / etc. The location of Andrew’s place is absolutely prime for getting around the city and when he says it’s a 5 minute walk, that’s because it actually is! The room is incredibly cosy and the bed is very comfortable. A very warm and welcoming room (just like the previous room of Andrew’s I’ve stayed at) that we’ll definitely be staying in again in the near future!' Here's what Ryan from Toronto wrote 28/2/18 '“Andrew's home is the perfect balance of eccentric and quirky, much like he is. From the minute you arrive there's the feeling that Andrew really enjoys having guests stay with him. I was in the "library room" and it was single handedly the best room I've ever stayed in! Aside from the bed which was really comfy, the room had floor to ceiling bookshelves! Anything you could want to read, Andrew had. Andrew, himself, was a pleasure to talk. We bonded over a shared love of movies and snow haha. If you're looking for a place that has character and a life of its own then I would 100% recommend Andrew's home. ” 'I only managed to get my foot in Andrew's door because of a late cancellation and just for one night; I'm so glad that I did, what a treat. Exactly as it said on the tin but with an even deeper lustre and a warmer glow and a beautiful soft sheen finish! So much has been said about Andrew and his house already that I'll just add: honest, warm, graceful, intelligent, generous . . . put that man in a dress and a nice hat and he could run Buckingham Palace! Thank you Andrew.' Eugene August 2016 I need to catch a glimpse of the sea at least every day. Walking my dog in the churchyard, meeting up with friends for a coffee, watching a film at the Duke of York's, struggling with a crossword and a show at the Komedia are some of my favourite activities. My top five places in Brighton are the Dome, The Pavilion, The West Pier, The North Laine and the kissing sculpture on the seafront. I've been up the i360 tower many times already. Much as I love Brighton, I need to visit a Greek island at least once a year, as well as have a city break. I LOVE guests to feel at home. I provide guests with breakfast of cereal, juice, toast, spreads, pastries, fruit, tea and coffee. Although I wouldn't be offended in the slightest if you decide to go out for breakfast. Billie's and Bill's are within five minutes walk. My favourite restaurants are Pompoko, Planet India, V.I.P., Iydea, La Choza, Pho, The Curry Leaf, Franco Manca, Manju's, Terre a Terre and Food for Friends. Best places for coffee are Coho, Black Mocha, Flour Pot, Presuming Ed, Beans and Wheat and Flour Pot. But if you find a new one, do let me know. If you would like to use my kitchen for cooking, preparing food or eat a takeway at my dining room table, feel free. I provide towels for guests and if you've forgotten something, just ask. I even have a hair dryer even though I'm bald! People visit Brighton for amazing reasons. Whether it's attending a stand-up comedy course, learning to be an aerial dancer, setting up an art installation at a local gallery, attending a conference or a wedding, performing at a gig, paragliding at Seven Sisters, improving your English skills at one of our great language schools, attending a graduation ceremony or a tattoo convention, attending a tea-blending session, petting lambs on a farm on Easter Sunday, participating in a paranormal ghost-hunt or travelling from the other side of the world to meet a new grandchild, I love to hear about it. The reason to beat at the moment is Greg, who flew all the way from Melbourne to watch his favourite band at the Brighton Dome. Stop press! Now matched by Sarah who travelled from Swansea to select her wedding dress which she will wear when she gets married later in the year in a treehouse in Seattle. Peter and Chloe became engaged while staying at my house and Jamie and Richard celebrated their civil partnership here. I've enjoyed having visitors from 68 countries so far: Australia, Iran, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Thailand, Slovenia, Russia, Denmark, Venezuela, Roumania, Cayman Islands, Japan, Norway, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Finland, Singapore, Pakistan, Spain, Netherlands, South Africa, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Sweden, USA, Belgium, China, Portugal, South Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Slovakia, Italy, Serbia, Morocco, Croatia, Poland, Austria, Turkey, Brazil, St Kitts, Israel, India, Gabon, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Macedonia, Colombia, Brunei, Uruguay, Switzerland, Hungary, Palestine, Dominican Republic, Chile, Malta, Surinam, Latvia, Argentina, Kuwait, Laos, Peru, Zambia, Paraguay and Armenia as well as guests from all over the UK. If your country isn't on my list, please tell me and I'll gladly add it.
