This sweet and elevated workman's cottage, set on a disused farm, is utterly charming and cosy. It's a particularly convenient location if you're looking to venture out into the Border Ranges National park with its vast views and numerous, magical walking tracks.

The cottage itself is pretty basic. Perfect for those whom appreciate good old rustic charm, or those looking for a country escape.

Le logement
As you will be able to tell by the photos, the space is very rustic yet charming. It's definitely a space free of 'bells & whistles', concentrating more on the basics, done well. Just like us it has some bumps and bruises but we love it for that.

Please be aware that mobile phone reception is non existent. Say your goodbyes from about 20 minutes away. You can keep in touch with the outside world via the internet (iPhone and messenger etc). However! The big house just at the top of the drive approx. 80m away) does have a landline for emergencies.

There is a small television and DVD player (with lots of DVDs to choose from), however, there is no actual TV reception here. There is an HDMI socket at the back of the TV if you'd like to link up your computer to stream via the internet. Please be aware that the internet connection isn't super fast so it can glitch a bit. If the weather is bad, the internet is even more glitchy, so chuck on a dvd and forget about the world!

Fire flies!!!! Magical little critters they are!! I've seen them here. Just not all the time. Very mesmerising to watch if you get lucky enough!

I've been sure to include the following items as they are must haves:

Coffee, Tea, Sugar
Mustard & Tomato Sauce
Olive Oil
Wine vinegar
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt & Pepper

Autres points à prendre en note
Heavy rain does impact things! Keep in touch if things have been wet with regards to the kind of vehicle you have. A regular car can have issues with the slight hill approaching the cottage. In such conditions a 4wd is best

If you're wanting to see what the Border Ranges National Park has to offer there are plenty of hits on the internet. From peoples drone videos on youtube, to the more thorough 'to do' info via the national parks NSW website. In terms of what is available in the area, there is a sweet little general store in the nearby town of Wiangaree (which is where you turn off the highway). This is approx. 10 minutes away. They have the basics there, bread, milk, beer etc. Nothing fancy. Just the basics. Run by lovely locals. The next nearest town is Kyogle which has a supermarket with all your provisioning needs, again, nothing fancy.

I (Jess) manage the cottage. The owner resides on the property in 'the big house', mostly hidden from the cottage due to the rather large morton bay fig tree. If he's home and you have to make an emergency call, or the power goes or something immediate, that's no problem. Go see him. Anything to do with the booking and the cottage can be tended to by myself. We lean more towards letting people just get on with their time with minimal interruptions.
