David & Andy's apartment in Paris was a peaceful oasis above the bustle of the city, and the perfect place to retire to after a long day of sightseeing.
My wife and I stayed with our twin 5 year old girls, and there was ample room in the tastefully appointed apartment. In particular, coming from a house cluttered with children's things, it was very relaxing to surrounded by tasteful and minimalist decor. I enjoyed touches like the zinc tabletop for the turntable and the projector, which we used to coax the kids to bed with a movie night.
On days where our kids grew tired of sightseeing, we we able to bring them to the roof, where they enjoyed the sights of the city skyline, - including the picture-perfect sunset directly behind the Sacré-Cœur. while watering the plants and picking vegetables in the garden and also took them for a dip in the pool. The washing machine allowed us to pack light. The well-equipped kitchen allowed us to enjoy the city without being weighed-down by a week of eating in restaurants, especially with our kids being fussy eaters.
The apartment was well-appointed with everything we could need, and there was a ton of shopping in the area, as well as some great restaurants. The apartment is also very accessible to the Stalingrad station (1.5 short city blocks), Louis Blanc (2-3 blocks), and on our first day, we walked to the Gare Du Nord very quickly, but after that, we usually used Louis Blanc or Stalingrad depending upon where we were going.
We did not meet David and Andy in person as they were out of town, but all of our needs were met. Their friend, Annick was a tremendous help showing us around, and David and Andy also left a book (in French and English) outlining the highlights of the area (as well as the directions for the building, from the pool to the recycling).
We would definitely stay again and highly recommend David & Andy's apartment.
