Peace and quiet is what you will find here in the desert valley. Great hiking and climbing at Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains and Chiricahua National Monument. It's a great place to relax and take refuge for a day or extended stay.

Le logement

The Rancho is a great place to relax with amazing views of the sunrise and sunset over the Chiricahua Mountains and the Dragoon Mountains, respectively. A south facing covered car port and porch is wonderful to spend time outside yet in the shade. You can also take a stroll up the wash and experience desert monsoon erosion.

Very beautiful and quiet place. We had great time in the region. The house was clean with many commodities. Very nice house! Thanks again Lora.

Rancho de Tranquilidad is in a very quiet neck of the woods, perfect for recharging ones battery. The directions to find the place are spot on. A very spacious place. We did not use the TV or fireplace, so cannot comment. Loads of pots, pans dishes etc. Fridge had food in it. Would recommend checking expiry dates on the food but not a biggie. Again place was as we thought it would be. Not fancy in any way, so don't expect it to be. Go with an open mind and plans to relax and you will enjoy it. Lovely hikes within an hours drive or even closer. Play the desert game. Educational!!!

Lora's home is as pictured, although much bigger than the photos depict. The views from the front and back porch are beautiful, and although it is on the main road, traffic sounds diminish dramatically overnight. Javalinas, coyotes, rabbits, many birds, and even a Great Horned Owl visited while I was there. It is only a a few miles from Sunsites, where there are a couple of restaurants and stores, and a gas station with an ATM. The drive to Tombstone, the Cochise Stronghold, Douglas, and Tucson is easy and makes for great day-trips. Very nearby is the Willcox Playa, that with a bit of hunting, you can find the access road to drive onto. Like the Salt Flats, it used to be the bottom of a sea/lake and stretches on for many miles. For people with severe allergies, I would recommend talking with Lora, as the house is fully carpeted and has well worn bathroom fixtures. It isn't a new home, but it is comfortable and spacious. Lora was prompt and responsive to my needs as they arose, and kindly allowed me to leave my trailer on the property prior to starting the rental.

This little "Rancho" is in a very secluded area, great views of the valley and close to the mountains. Has plenty of easy access for hiking, and is a perfect spot to watch the sunset and star gaze. This is a more rustic place, is nice as it has plenty of room suitable for a full family, the accommodations are comfortable but not fancy or upscale.

What a great quiet star-filled place. We sat on the porch and watched the sun set with the little sliver of a moon. The house was just right. Cooked on the grill, ate around the table, made a fire in the stove and just hung out. Loved it.

Lora's home was warm and inviting. We loved all the sofa's and blankets to curl up on, one for each of us, after arriving from our long day of travel. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked for making our meals. In the evening we watched the sun set from the front porch and in the morning I watched the sun rise from the back porch. So peaceful! Thank you for making us feel so welcomed in your home Lora.

No heater in house - high 30's to low 40's outside. wood burning stove only option but it does not heat the bedrooms. portable heaters in bedrooms but note warns that if both bedrooms have their heaters on then it blows out the circuit. This obviously would not be an issue in the warmer months but not disclosed up front.

Réponse de Lora :
There is no central heat in the house. Heat is provided through a wood burning stove and additional space heaters in the bedrooms. This information is described in the Basics house description in the Airbnb Rancho listing. The wood burning stove is more than adequate to heat the house. All the space heaters in the bedrooms can be simultaneously in use. Guests did not use the wood burning stove and slept in the spare bedrooms. I offered to have someone come by and help them with the stove but received no response. Blowing a circuit and tripping a breaker are different things. The notes on the two spare bedroom space heaters read that they cannot both be on HIGH at the same time or they will trip the breaker. They can both be on MEDIUM at the same time and still heat the approx 12x12' rooms sufficiently. I am assuming their lack of familiarity with using the stove and misunderstanding with what was described in the listing info, guestbook, and note about the heaters created a situation for them that unfortunately did not meet their expectations.
