Ellyn I'm sorry to hear that you felt in any way unsafe in the house; I've never found that to be the case, either when I've lived there or from any guest feedback but I hear your concerns as a single woman in a major city at night. Haggerston is generally an excellent and safe area, I'm sorry your experience was anything other than this.
Re the state the apartment was left in, I would remind you that I did contact you privately to ask for some explanation before I left any feedback, as my initial reaction to the condition of the place was both confusion and worry, as it seemed like someone was still living there, it was full of stuff and dirty; as I mentioned to you both my friend and I, before we found the keys under a pile of trash, were concerned that something had happened to you before you could move out, the flat was so full of stuff. My cleaner Maisa told me that she couldn't clean properly as the place was still so full of stuff and she's been with me for years and I trust her. I'm sorry if you feel I was aggressive in my communication but I can't say I agree (and you're free to publish the text of our conversation if you wish), I merely asked if there was some explanation for the mess. When you dismissed this and offered no apology for the state it was in (which you're very much downplaying and acting as if it was normal; I encourage you to accept this, I have photographic evidence), I left honest feedback that it was not acceptable and that I would not recommend anyone to lease you their home if you think it's acceptable to leave it in this condition.
This is the first time I've ever had to leave negative feedback on a guest as all my guests over the years have behaved impeccably, treating the home as if it's their own. This is what I think most people hosting on Airbnb would expect.
