A tiny self-catering stone studio in the Peak District with stunning views and great local walks. Great for a weekend escape – or a longer walking or bird watching holiday. South facing with a charming terrace overlooking the dale. Sun loungers and sunshade provided in the summer.
There are lovely walks of all levels from the door and the regular local buses open up linear walks to/from Bakewell, Matlock and Ashford-in-the-Water.
Visit The Hide throughout the year, both together and alone. There’s plenty of space for one, two need choreography once the sofa bed (super comfy - new August) is down. The walls are very thick, so it’s cosy and warm in winter and cool in the summer. Even in bad weather the view through the French windows is glorious and from the terrace it’s truly magnificent.
Inside The Hide, there is a comfortable double sofa bed, fridge, cooking facilities including a microwave, table and chairs, TV/DVD, shower and toilet. WiFi available on request. There are 3 pub restaurants in the village and regular buses to Bakewell.
Maximum of 2 people.
Children are welcome.
No smoking. Pets are allowed.

They will have access to the rest of the large garden - but at their own risk! It's on a steep hillside with crumbling stone walls!

I like to make my guests feel at home and enjoy chatting. But I also think their privacy is important.
As the accommodation is self-contained, I don't usually provide food. But there will always be tea, coffee and milk as well as basics such as cooking oil, salt and pepper. I can get in breakfast food if requested. You also need to be aware that The Hide often has guests with dogs. It is always thoroughly cleaned, but I can't guarantee it is totally free of stray dog hairs! NOT suitable if you have allergies or are particularly fastidious.
Respect for other residents in the area - including wildlife. If you have a dog, please clear any dog mess from the garden. Also make sure a dog is under control in the surrounding countryside.
I am a great host, and I love having guests. I play the ukelele. I love the arts, the countryside, animals and family. I live in a beautiful place and love to share it with people who also love beautiful places.
