After a trip to the mountains I considered staying with a different Airbnb host in Port-au-Prince but I decided to return to HC because my first experience had been so enjoyable - both the people and the community atmosphere!

Haiti Communitere is a very welcoming place to stay in PAP where you can meet fellow travelers and people working for a wide variety of different organizations in the community. The comfortable accommodations, good food, and friendly and knowledgeable staff make HC a great place to stay. It’s conveniently located close to the airport and the warm community atmosphere, sustainable development initiatives, and all the projects going on are truly inspirational. I look forward to staying at HC again next time I’m in Haiti and I highly recommend this place to other travelers as a great Airbnb experience!

Haiti Communitere is a remarkable place. It has a community-friendly environment, is always full of friendly, inspirational people, is eco-friendly and brilliantly sustainable. The accommodations are unique and confortable and the staff warm and welcoming. My room was a converted shipping container, airy and quiet. Check out the other eco-building options! If you prefer a private room, you can stay in an earthship, a strawbale house, a super adobe house. There is clean drinking water available 24/7, kitchen access and shared or private bathrooms depending on your room type. The bottom line is that it has everything you need - Wifi, airport access, highly knowledgable and accessible staff and security. As a daily workspace, you have access to all types of ongoing projects that are supporting the local community. Its fascinating to learn about the work going on in this place, and to see the collaboration with groups around Haiti. I highly recommend Haiti Communitere to any traveler looking for an authentic and inspirational place to stay.

We are a guest house with a purpose!
Since our founding in March of 2010, Haiti Communitere has been one of Haiti’s most effective aid and relief organizations. We have prospered against all odds, thrived when others have failed, and are privileged to still be working with communities that value – and depend – on our services to this day. Fortunately, Haiti is no longer a post-disaster relief zone, in need of the same kind of aid and resources HC has incubated, coordinated, and delivered so effectively in the past. Nevertheless, the need in Haiti remains great.
