À propos de ce logement
Duck End Cottage is an historic thatched cottage dating back to the thirteenth century . It has recently been restored using traditional methods of wattle and daub externally, and lathe and plaster internally to help preserve the original cruck frame
The simplicity of Duck End Cottage's original build is complemented by the contemporary new kitchen and bathroom which offers the highest standard of modern living.
The extensive gardens in a conservation area offer a peaceful place to wander and unwind. Bounded on two sides by a babbling brook it is a haven for wild life, including kingfishers, moorhens, long-tailed tits and owls. The view from the window of the Thames flood plane may entice you to walk to the river, or to St Michaels, the village church, before retiring for a bite to eat and drink at the Harcourt Arms, the village pub (the village pub is closed for refurbishment at the moment). St Michaels is thought to have been built in 1130 by the second wife of Henry I and is mentioned in the doomsday book.
