The house is amazing. It is big, very well compartimented and very nicely decorated, in a Greek style, but reinterpreted in a modern manner which I loved. It has 3 bedrooms, a living room and a dining room/ kitchen. The bedrooms are placed at distance to each other, ensuring privacy.
The kitchen is very well equipped.
There are air cons in almost all the rooms.
But the best feature, I think, are the terrace and the yard/ garden, both very big. We had all the breakfasts and some dinners on the terrace. I enjoyed waking up early and spending some quiet time on the terrace, drinking coffee, reading or simply gazing at the trees and flowers from the garden. I think, because we enjoyed the house so much, we spent a little too much time there, instead of wandering around Sithia region :).
The only downside of this property is the location, I think, but it depends on what you expect from it. Gra Lygia is a village with zero turistic interest. There is a big beach 100 meters away, but it is not beautiful, like we expected from the Greek seaside. But there is a lively touristic town, Ierapetra, 10 minutes away by car and many interesting beaches and villages within 15-25 km. So, for a good cretan experience, you need a car, which you can park in the yard/ garden.
The hosts, Manolis and his wife, Popi, are Great hosts. They were available for all our inquiries. They provided us, as a welcome gift, fruits and some cookies from their daughter's graduation. The kitchen comes with organic olive oil from their own production.
