Fantastic 4 bedroomed apartment - ski in/out very close to two major gondolas in Alpes d'Huez ski area. Situated in delightful pedestrianised village of Oz en Oisans. Accomodates 8-10. Pool, sauna etc in development.

Exceptionally well located for skiing (ski in and out) this apartment is also within 2 mins walk/ski of the ski school meeting place, nursery slopes, shops (incl ski hire), supermarket, ski school office, crèche (up to age 6), tourist office and two fast queue-free gondolas into the huge Grandes Domaines (Alpes d'Huez) ski area. The area is also fantastic for walking and cycling (both mountain and road) in the summer with the lifts open July and August and there are many organised activities. This charming resort is car free so this is an ideal location for families as the entire village is skiable. Oz has its own ESF (bookable on-line) and other ski schools and fantastic kids' activities (including weekly kids' torchlight descent).

Chalet Folie is a spacious apartment on the fifth and sixth floors of 'Pic Blanc' building (with lift) facing the slopes, in Chalets des Neiges luxury development (with pool, sauna, reception (with wifi) and great restaurant). Three of the four bedrooms have en suite showers, and there is an extra bathroom. The dinner table seats 10. Huge balcony, open fireplace, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, TV, separate ski locker etc. The building is about 10 years old and has been built sympathetically with the local environment, making use of lots of wood and natural materials.

There are a number of bars,restaurants and pizzerias in the village and serveries for take away food (incl tartiflette). As well as the 'Sherpa' supermarket, there are a number of shops selling local produce and two boulangeries.

During the ski season, prices are weekly.

During the off-peak season, prices are daily and there is a minimum stay of 3 days with cleaning and sheets.

Covered car parking is available (free for one car; payable for a second although there are other (outdoor) free carparks - please note you will need to park initially/ be dropped off in the short stay parking to unload, then move the car (full instructions given). Due to the elevated nature of the development - which is a benefit for everything else - unpacking from the car to the apartment is via lifts and steep steps. But the 20 minutes of hassle at the start and finish of the holiday is more than offset by convenience, views, skiable village and child safety during the week as there are no cars in the village. We view this as the most family friendly resort we have been to but would be equally attractive to those seeking ultimate ski convenience in a small and charming Alpine village.

Guests have the entire apartment and use of a private lockable ski locker.

Guests have free access to a pool, sauna and exercise studio within a neighbouring building (same development). There is free wifi in the reception building.

There are two tennis courts and a beach volleyball court in the village which are free to use - bookable via the tourist office (only open in the summer season).

You will have the telephone number of our local agent should you need any assistance while you are there. There is also a reception for the development.

The tourist office is very close by for purchase of lift passes etc, and ESF is next door.

Your beds will be made on arrival and towels provided as part of the charge in winter. We ask is that you take all your rubbish and recycling out (to the rubbish store in adjacent buildings), strip the beds, put the dishwasher on and clean the fireplace (if used).

Two families (from St. Albans, England, and Auchtermuchty, Scotland), have co-bought the ski apartment that they have rented for the past two years. They view Oz as the perfect resort for family holidays and the spacious apartment is fantastically located within it. Both families have young children and enjoy skiing, walking and outdoor life.
