Yr Hen Gapel Bach is a self-contained annexe of Yr Hen Gapel, located in the picturesque village of Ffrith. The stone house was built in 1838 as a chapel and later converted into cottages.

It is a perfect location for walking, cycling, fishing, riding and generally exploring North Wales and the surrounding areas. We are a short drive from the historic market towns of Mold and Ruthin, Llangollen, home to the International Eisteddfod, and the beautiful city of Chester.

Le logement
The annexe is accessed from a side entrance and is independent from the main house.
The open plan downstairs living space is a room of character with a large stone inglenook fireplace and exposed beams, a dining area and well equipped galley style kitchen. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and bathroom. All windows are casement style to provide egress in case of emergency.

The gardens are full of interest and bisected by the River Cegidog, and 2 acres of deciduous woodland. There is a raised decking area that provides a view of the village.

Guests are invited to use the host’s garden and garden furniture during their stay, and firewood is available for use with the wood burner.

Parking for two average-size vehicles is available on the driveway; additional parking is available on the high street, a short walk away.

A lockable shed is available for guests to use to store bicycles, plus outside water hose for cleaning them down (please ask when booking).

Emplacement

Ffrith, Pays de Galles, Royaume-Uni

Ffrith occupies the valley floor where Nant y Ffrith converges on the River Cegidog which runs through our garden. A delightful 18th century packhorse bridge (grade II listed monument) adjacent to the property provides a glimpse of history on the doorstep.

The house is located on the edge of the village on a quiet, no through road. Lovely walks and bridleways are on the doorstep.

Village community centre is a few hundred yards away. It has a large playing field and a range of play equipment. The community centre also hosts a range of events throughout the week, including a Friday morning cafe with home made cake!

The village local, 'The Poachers', is a cafe and bar open on Fridays and Saturdays, however please note that they are closed from end Aug for a few months whilst they refurbish the interior.

There is a great pub/restaurant in the neighbouring village of Llanfynydd (1 mile), 'The Cross Keys', open Thursday - Sunday.

I'm a very active person and like to keep busy. Whether that's outdoors, walking and gardening, or getting involved with my local community association. I come from a family of netball players so a lot of my time is spent watching, playing and umpiring the game! That means I also like quiet time to relax, which is usually spent watching tv with my family or reading.
