You can't make a better choice than coming here. The worst thing about staying at Stavros' villa in Tinos is that eventually you have to pack up and leave. Our week there was absolutely wonderful, and no amount of pictures can convey how beautiful the setting is, or how thoughtfully the house is designed, decorated, and equipped with everything that you will need for a delightful vacation on this very special island.
We could not have asked for more from Stavros as a host. Before the trip, he enthusiastically and promptly answered a variety of questions, and went out of his way to inquire certain things for us. Once we arrived, he travelled all the way from Athens to meet us, arrange for a rental car, and show us the way to the house, pointing out local tips and restaurants along the way. After a tour of the house, he took us back into town, taking us to the best local fishermen, shops, baker, and butcher. Even once he left, he frequently checked in with us, offering to arrange change of towels and sheets etc. Without asking, he had someone pick us up and take us back to port, knowing that our tiny rental car would not fit our multitude of luggage!
As Stavros indicates on the page, a rental car is a must to get to the house from the port/town. But rental cars are cheap (as little as $30 day) and you will need a car to enjoy the island's charming villages and hidden beaches. Starvros provides you with a magazine about the island, as well as a map indicating his favorite spots and restaurants, so you will get good use of the car despite the comfort of the villa.
The kitchen is outfitted with everything you'll need to cook at home, and the island boasts a long list of local ingredients to work with. The two barbecues, one poolside, are the perfect place to cook fresh fish.
The pool was clean and well designed, and in 30 seconds you can walk down to a private beach to swim in the sea.
Many thanks to Stavros, we hope to be back soon!
