À propos de ce logement
This is a private suite off the shared entry on the first floor of our two story home. We are on a quiet street three blocks from downtown. Enjoy our sunny green room, incredible views and easy access to lake, trails, and buses to Boulder!
You enter our cozy but spacious guest suite through french doors in the foyer. It includes a bedroom and bath (with shower) that sports an over head heat lamp for extra warmth.
It has a very comfortable new queen sized bed and mattress. Throw rugs and fir walls add to the rustic and comfortable feel.
It has wi-fi, fresh towels and linens, a small writing desk - and returning guests will notice the new comfy chair and reading lamp.
The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion, and there is a hairdryer and iron with ironing board handy if needed.
The front porch is a favorite spot to swing in the sky chair on summer evenings or sit on the cushioned Adirondack chairs and take in the view of our 13'ers.
The spacious greenhouse out back sports another sky chair, picnic tables inside and out, and Adirondack chairs to recline and recover from your hikes through the high country. The concord grapes are plentiful and ripe usually August through October and you are welcome to enjoy them but watch out for the seeds!
At an altitude of 8,200 feet our little slice of paradise is a great place to relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
Accès des voyageurs
While you are here we are happy to share our kitchen upstairs (everyone cleans up after themselves here). There is a small refrigerator for guest use on the first floor, through the library. We keep an electric kettle, teas and Starbucks instant coffees, fresh fruit, snacks and lite breakfast fare next to the mini-fridge for our guests.
When you're feeling social we welcome you in our living room and greenhouse to enjoy our company, fish tank and piano.
There are local restaurants and coffee shops for meals (5 minute walk down the street), or you can shop at our local grocery or health food Co-op and prepare meals here.
If you need a washer (we have lines for drying), ironing board, iron or hairdryer, just let us know.

We're friendly and available upstairs if you feel social or have questions. Yet, we totally respect your choice to be as private as you prefer. Our guest suite is on the first floor where you have space to yourself. You, the guest, will set the tone of your visit.
We have cell phone towers in Nederland for AT&T and Verizon and some other carriers work up here randomly. There is no service in the canyons and most of Peak to Peak highway.
Staying hydrated is key to avoiding altitude reactions! Refill your water bottle often from the tap (basically melted glacier!) or our filter in the kitchen.
Be prepared for snow and high winds in the winter months! 4WD is recommended. On windy nights your room is the quietest in the house! It is located on the east side and is part of the foundation, so it is quiet and calm.
Temperatures in Nederland are usually 10-15 degrees lower than those in Boulder and Denver, so pack your layers for the greatest comfort in the mountains.
The state of Colorado legalized recreational marijuana in 2014 and Nederland is home to three retail shops as well as a new dispensary for medical that is opening soon on 1st street.
We want our guests to feel comfortable here and since this is a home stay, not a hotel, there are considerations for sharing our space.
We do not permit any smoking in the house, however, the greenhouse (off the kitchen) is a (420) smoker-friendly area. Tobacco is outside only, please ask us for an ashtray.
Since we live on a dirt road, we ask that you leave your dirty/wet shoes in the entry. Dry shoes only need a swipe on the front door mat.
Please respect quiet time after 10:30 pm.
Fires in the outdoor chimnea and greenhouse wood stove need to be supervised by us due to the many fire bans in Boulder County.
We are somewhat flexible on arrival times, but generally check in is at 4pm. If your check in plans are not around 4pm, please connect with us ahead so we are not home waiting for you. We would also appreciate if you kept us apprised of your check out plans the night before. Check out is by 11 am on the day of your departure.
As dog owners we know it's hard to find places that welcome pets. If you have a dog that is mellow, well trained and gets along with other dogs and people, we may consider welcoming him/her, please ask ahead of time if you are traveling with your pet.
My name is Sharon and I live in the foothills west of Boulder, Colorado with my husband Burt and our 10 year old shorthaired terrier Oliver. We are semi-retired, Burt was staff at the University of Colorado at Boulder for 31 years and is also a poet and musician. I am a Postpartum Doula (like a baby nurse) for 25 years. You can learn more about my work by visiting motherbabydoula on line.
We love great food, local color, meeting new people, softball, music, gardening, movies and hiking the local trails.
We enjoy traveling, and have seen much of the US and a bit of the world and know it's nice to stay in a home over a hotel, and since our son is grown, we have a beautiful place to share.
