This ground floor cottage dating back to the 1780's is positioned in the heart of the Peak District and is just perfect for couples. Litton Mill is centred around the former textile mill on the banks of the River Wye. The cottage, part of the old Mill Barn, features a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove, a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area, a pleasant double bedroom and modern shower room. Direct access to the Monsal Trail and numerous local walks from the doorstep

Le logement
The Cottage has direct access to the Monsal Trail - a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders, with wheelchair access at various points. The trail runs for 8.5 miles along the former Midland Railway line between Blackwell mill, Chee Dale and Bakewell.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome. Please note the cottage does not have its own garden space, so bring extra ‘dog towels’ and your own dog baskets.

A travel cot and high chair are available on request.

There is designated car parking for one car directly outside the cottage.

Accès des voyageurs
You will have access to the whole of the cottage which is self contained. There is not a separate garden with the property to let dogs out in, but it is in the Peak District National Park, so many miles of dog walking exercise are on your door step.

Water Cum Jolly - a tranquil walk by the river towards Cressbrook, Stunning scenery - can be muddy, so boots advised.

Millers Dale Station has recently reopened after restoration, with a cafe and car parking along the Mensal Trail.

The Anglers Rest at Millers Dale - 20 mins walk - dog and family friendly is open every day for good pub food and a choice of well kept real ales.

Litton - a 7 minute drive away has the Red Lion pub providing meals and well kept ales

Tideswell - 10 minute drive away - The stunning ‘Cathedral of the Peak’ is well served by its small Co-op and locally owned butchers, fruit and veg, post office, chemist, bakery and gift shop, restaurants and cafes.

We also recommend the Horse and Jockey in Tideswell for a dog friendly pub serving traditional pub food as well the Red Lion at Litton

For days out, we would recommend
* Alton Towers - theme park just 40mins drive away
* Bakewell - pretty market town and home of the ‘original’ Bakewell pudding shops
* Buxton - lovely Spa town with an Opera House and cinema. All market town amenities including a mainline train station.
* Castleton - pretty town housing Blue John, Treak and Speedwell Caverns
Chatsworth House - stunning house and gardens
