This place exceeded our expectations! We went with another family (4 adults and 3 teens) and have been coming to Zihuatanejo for 10 years. We have typically done the hotel thing and thought we should change up the experience. It was a good decision! The pictures of Georgina's place don't do it justice at all. The view is amazing and being able to watch the sunset from your own personal pool area is a very special experience. My 14 year old daughter tells me that the pool was much bigger than the pictures show and it was her favorite part.
The home is an open air concept and to wake up in the morning, come into the main living space, and sit down on a chair of your choice and hear the wildlife and ocean waves is awesome. There is a master bedroom upstairs, then the main living area, and downstairs is another master bedroom with two other bedrooms that can accommodate several people. A washer and dryer are available for use and having a full refrigerator and stove were also very nice.
I could see this place being excellent for families with kids, or groups of adults looking for a fun and relaxing getaway. For us having teens, it offered the best of everything. We could spend the day at the beach, and instead of coming back to a small hotel room with potentially cranky kids, we came back to a place that allowed our teens (and us) plenty of space to "chill-out". While I am not a huge fan of phones and electronics on a vacation, having wifi was very nice not only for the kids but for the adults as well.
Our housekeeper's name was Tere and she was so gracious and helpful. One morning she even cooked us breakfast, and we ate some of the best chilaquiles, crepes, and fresh fruit Zihuatanejo has to offer! We were all coffee drinkers and Tere would make us coffee when she arrived in the morning to clean the place and tidy up the bedrooms. She was even kind enough to peel my hard boiled eggs one morning!
One thing to keep in mind, if you don't speak Spanish, you might want to consider using a translation app from your phone. It can help improve your communication with Tere.
Another thing to note, Georgina's home is on the hillside, as are the majority of buildings in Zihuatanejo, so be prepared for some hill climbing, which can serve as your work-out for the day! Cab service is also available and a phone call away, which we utilized to go to the grocery store and buy food, snacks, and of course beer :).
Thank-you Georgina for giving us the opportunity to stay at your place!
