Just a 20 minute ferry ride from Portland. Charming, light, airy, frilly, comfortable antique room in artist's creative, quirky, ever-evolving home/ work of art. Beautiful bedroom on the second floor of a home which is not fully completed. (shared bathroom on first floor) One block from the bay beach.
Your host, Ted is an old hippie who is young at heart, who will share his eclectic home, warm hospitality, and ideas for a fun-filled island adventure. Enjoy bicycling or hiking around the island, exploring the rocky shore-line, relaxing on the beach and dining at local restaurants. Get away from it all to this memorable and beautiful island spot! Stay here for a laid back island experience and a tower view of sunsets over the Diamond Islands in beautiful Casco Bay that's priceless.
Please note: Second floor bedroom with shared full bathroom on first floor. You will have to walk through area under-renovation, or down deck stairs to get to first floor.
*Sinks in bedroom not yet functional.
How do you get here?
You can either park your car for free at your own risk on the street in Portland, at the ferry terminal in Portland for $25.00/ day, or bring your car on the ferry (see below for rates). If you are coming by foot, you can either make arrangements with Ted for pick-up in advance, take the Island Taxi to "Ted's Place," or walk for one mile on Island Avenue to the Tree House. Let Ted know in advance if you would like a ride to or from the ferry for $3.00 per person if more than one, and $5.00 for single person. Either way, we recommend you pack lightly, bringing only what you will need for the time you will stay.
