Virgile created problems with the neighbors before the new neighbor moved in, but since the old one was moving out nobody wanted to make a big deal about it. He started causing problems with the new neighbor the day she moved in, including heading downstairs for a confrontation as she was getting her furniture installed that first day. Virgile chose to leave in this case, but our landlord was pushing and we would have had to remove him from the listing soon if he did not leave on his own. We have been hosting here for many years and Virgile is one of the first guests the landlord has said this about.
Regarding the other complaints, the pictures show the apartment as it is. It isn't a new apartment to be sure, but it is a fantastic deal for the size and location, and we keep it very clean and in order. A new apartment with these parameters would cost at least double what we charge.
We asked Virgile for information regarding the vacuum, since it was working fine the day he checked in, and he only replied about once a week but without any real information--not even basic troubleshooting stuff. As we thought, when we checked it, everything was actually in order, he was just using it incorrectly.
I wish Virgile could have had a better stay with us. We tried hard to address his complaints, but he communicated with us very sparsely and didn't give us any good opportunities to stop by and help him with what he did complain about.
