The Oswegatchie Adirondack Cabin Retreat is built with rustic elegance in mind. The cabin is situated upon 1.5 acres of beautiful Adirondack woodland surrounded by 13,000 acres of state land in the Western Adirondack Mountains with the Oswegatchie River approximately 100 yards from the front door. The immediate area is great for hiking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and exploring. Snowmobile right from the door to Lewis County C8 accessing all beautiful trails to anywhere in the state.

Le logement
Near the cabin are many surrounding ponds such as French Pond, Long Pond, Round Pond, Rock Pond, Trout Pond, Clear Pond and Mud Pond which are all from 100 yards away to within two miles. A trail head for Jake's Pond can be found at the end of Long Pond Road only about 3 miles away. There are maps at the cabin for your use to personalize your own Adirondack Adventure!

Snowmobiling from the front door with plenty of trailer parking. The cabin is located on Long Pond Road Trail with Lewis County #5 and #8 trails less than one mile down the road. All beautiful trails to anywhere in the state. An amazing 30 mile ride southeast to Stillwater Reservoir then Old Forge; north to Harrisville and Star Lake; or up into the Five Ponds wilderness that is due east on Long Pond Road. We have made the cabin convenient for winter occupancy with plenty of trailer parking, a furnace and an optional electric fireplace to keep you warm.

Our Oswegatchie Adirondack cabin was custom built by a local, master cabinet maker. The cabin is all on one level with a large covered patio entering into a large well-stocked kitchen, full bathroom, laundry area, cozy living room and three bedrooms.

No matter what the season, every day is beautiful. The summer sun off the waters, winter all in white or the fall with its intense colors. The cabin is surrounded by huge white pines, hemlock woods and maple hardwoods for color and fragrance. The cabin is approximately fourteen miles from the town of Croghan and six miles from the Belfort Inn in Belfort.

Enjoy a lot of R+R time, swimming, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, a game of horse shoes, a campfire under the star or seasonal activities like syrup making in the spring at many local sugar bushes and winters of sledding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

To make your stay enjoyable we supply wood for your campfires, linens, towels, blankets, pillows, bathroom tissue, paper towels, dish towels, dish soap, cleaning supplies and basic spices.

PLEASE NOTE in an effort to making your vacation as comfortable and affordable as possible without adding fee+tax after fee+tax we advertise without cleaning fees so you have the option to leave the cabin clean and ready for the next guest or we offer an additional cleaning fee if you prefer not to worry about cleaning the cabin and washing linens. Please let us know if you would like the optional cleaning and laundering service fee added. Thank you.

Accès des voyageurs
Full access to the cabin, front and backyards. Plus, enjoy the 13,000 acres of state land in the backyard.

Autres points à prendre en note
We are very fortunate to be in the Adirondack Park surrounded by huge white pines, hemlock woods and maple hardwoods but with that comes no cell phone reception and no trash service (it is carry in, carry out unless you notify us in advance that you would like the optional cleaning and laundering fee added). We do have a landline for your use along with LIMITED WiFi.

The cabin is on 1.5 acres of wooded land with 13,000 acres of state land in the backyard. We own the house directly next door on the adjacent 5.25 acres lot with French Pond on it. You are welcome to enjoy the sandy beach, kayaks, canoe and rowboat on French Pond just please follow the white markers heading left out of the driveway to follow the walking path off Long Pond Road to get to French Pond.

There are two very occasional, seasonal neighbors; one across Long Pond Road and one east of the cabin on the other side of our 1.5 acres (you can barely see the cabin). There are other houses on Long Pond Road but they can not be seen from the cabin.

The cabin is approximately fourteen miles from the village of Croghan and six miles from the Belfort Inn in Belfort (recommend this bar especially for the local atmosphere and crispy, delicious wings!).
