Le logement
We are heading in to the warmer months means our fruit will soon be ready to pick . Apples pears figs peaches plums. ‘The Old Chook Shed’ has been converted into a glamping shack. Using recycled materials. We are located in the Adelaide hills.
Our Shed is situated on a 60 acre block, In which we also live on the property. Our property is rugged and far from neat with fallen trees, steep hills, broken fences, rusty machinery. Our land has many stories to tell. Once mined for slate and gold by early settlers then used to farm fruit also hit by deverstating bush fires destroying alot of the property then it was left empty for many years to fend for it's self. Now slowly we are bringing it back to life.
It's the perfect place to slow down, reconnect & appreciate what this stunning country has to offer from its natural beauty and many types of Australian wild life roaming night and day.

PLEASE NOTE - The toilet is an out house along side the shed that is eco friendly composting toilet using saw dust.
If you are wanting hotel like accommodation then our shed isn't for you

Autres points à prendre en note
We want our guest to feel at home while glamping on our property, we have dressed the beds with quality linen, providing soft towels. Over the bath shower and a 3/4 size bath tub perfect for the kiddies to soak in after a big day exploring outside. Soap & shower gel provided. Outhouse eco composting toilet along side the chook Shed . Extra blankets to cuddle up with on the sofa. Indoor wood fire for cold nights. Aircon in main living area. kitchen is basic but covers most needs. coffee machine, grill, hot plate & small bench top convention oven. Small fridge but no freezer.. Webber bbq, two separate out door sitting areas. Open air camp fire pit. ( please be aware that over the hotter months of the year Adelaide Hills has a total fire ban so the camp fire can not be used at these times. Fire Ban Now in Place ) Second outdoor area is located at the front of the shed with an enclosed private patio area with hot tub.
Occasionally you will hear international planes fly directly above The Chook Shed.
This is as a result of our property being under a flight path.
It’s spectacular to watch & kids love seeing them so close. Adelaide hills can become very chilly & foggy at night with temperatures dropping even in the summer months. I remind you not to forget to pack , torch & gum boots if you intend on sitting outside
Its our pleasure if guests would like to explore around our property, we just ask to be responsible and always supervise your children wear appropriate clothing, shoes the ground is very uneven with loose rocks uneven ground, pot holes, fallen trees, rusty tin and machinery, steep hills, wire fencing some damaged with loose wire. please respect all our property and do not go into barn and shed near main house. Red wood is not to be climbed on and please don't help your self too this wood. Read and respect any signs that are around property.
Large above ground open water tank near main house out of bounds. Don't attempt to feed, pat or catch native wild animals respect this is also there home
We have pets who are all friendly are guests can interact with. One of our loved pets is a very excited German shepherd 10 month old so not so small her name is Storm she loves meeting new people. Storm has lots of energy, who is still learning her place & boundaries so on the off chance she isn't in her secure play area when your here she may run and great you by jumping up to say hello, lick you,And has even been caught running in the chook Shed to join the party and make her self comfy on your bed with muddy paws. So as an extra precaution we recommend you leave all shoes inside shed when removing them and closing doors.
Water is safe to drink as we are on natural springs.
Being a tin shed with nature surrounding expect to hear odd noises.
If you break anything while on your stay we will ask for it to be replaced or a fee charged.BE AWARE -
Sometimes, small lizards or snakes or a mouse may be sighted. Rarely, but on the of occasion find their way into the Shed.
Therefore, please remember to close all doors when heading out for the day and evening.
Ants, Creepy Crawlers & Spiders are always near & like to appear.
Please don’t panic, scream or shout they are just as easily frightened & more scared then me or you.
Please do not hesitate to contact your host to relocate them.. (The good old Aussie way)
Added note- We do have a rooster & if your not aware they are loud at times as roosters do like to cock a doodal at sunrise or some times alittle earlier.

Two years ago myself, my husband and our two children, relocated back to our home town of Adelaide- after living in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast for about 8 years. Now living on a farm in the north/east side of town, my family and I have really started to find our feet- living a country lifestyle. Each day we have found ourselves learning something new and exciting. Throughout this time, we have started establishing gardens, saving old fruit orchards and clear the land that was once destroyed by bush fires. Whilst on this journey, my family and I have grown to love this lifestyle. Our love for the native land, animals and plants have inspired us to provide and accommodated others, to give the opportunity to have our experience and enjoyment.
