Susan was there when we arrived, and was very friendly, and provided a lot of information about the area. Her dog, Bailey is the most calm dog you've ever met, and was not a worry for my daughter who is cautious around dogs. While we enjoyed our stay here, I'm not sure I'd use it for a younger child. There isn't a door between the eating area and the stairs going up to this suite, and the loft is where the "kids bed" is, so when people are conversing in the evening, the noise goes right up to where the kid is sleeping. My daughter (5) takes a bit to fall asleep anyway, so it didn't bother us, but it would be something to note if your child doesn't. It is super quiet and peaceful at Cozy Haven. The breakfast was good, and while it's not right in town, it's very easy to get to. Overall good place to stay.

Thanks for your feedback, Lisa. True, the extended area is open at the stairs, but one should note that it is still private as no one can see the room from downstairs. As far as any noise for young ones who have a hard time sleeping, maybe pull the mattress into the big room with the door? Anyway, something to think about. I'll clarify that on my listing... Sally
Gig Harbor is a beautiful place, made even more enchanting by The Cozy Haven in the Trees. Our hosts, Sally and John, gave us a gracious welcome, despite our later-than-expected arrival and did everything they could to make our stay outstanding. Sally keeps the guest suite spotless and puts together an excellent breakfast to get the day started. It's a wonderful and relaxing place and I would highly recommend it.
This is a wonderful accommodation. Testimony is that this visit was the second for my wife, who is Norwegian, and me, an American. We recently bought a house in the area, and Sally and John were most agreeable to our needs, commuting back and forth to our new home sometimes at early or late hours. The property is lovely and very well described by its title, "Cozy Haven in the Trees 1." The number '1' refers to the spacious second floor suite with king bed in the master, and a working table, sofa, and day bed in the outer room. The views are impressing to the delightful garden in the front from the outer room, to the woods in the back from the bedroom. Breakfast offered many choices, such as home baked biscuits and freshly picked fruit, including delicious wild blackberries from the forested areas near the house. The very special part, though, was the genuineness of our host and hostess. John and Sally are the 'salt of the earth' in all the proper meanings of those words. If given the opportunity to stay with them you will love the quite, peaceful, comforting grounds and be thoroughly refreshed for whatever your days shall bring.

My husband and I are both in education. We love kids and thrive on changing the world one child at a time. I grew up in Denver, CO, my husband in Chicago. We both went to school in Utah and that's where we met, married, and raised our two sons. After 30 years, we left a close com…
