Thanks for your review which we find dissappointing considering the lovely comments you gave us at the time and the Thank you note you left for us with the piece of rock and chocolates from home.
To be honest, when you told us you had climbed over the small spiked gate at the entrace way, instead of pushing it open, we knew we had a problem (and oiled the gate!)
We live in a Georgian townhouse, built in 1805. The experience you received here was an authentic one, from the Historical stories told by your host and Scottish breakfast prepared by your hostess which you enjoyed copiously every morning. If you found a hair in your butter dish, we appologise but hope you understand this could happen even in your own home and shouldn't be exagerrated. Our rooms and public areas are cleaned daily. If you were looking for a new-build with new furniture, you should have booked a Holiday Inn or other faceless, character-less accommodation where you would be just another number and receive no attention at all whilst paying treble the price you paid here.
Breakfast is served between 9-10am as you knew when you booked, you were able to help yourselves on the morning of departure because you were leaving in the early hours. This is not unreasonable but standard proceedure. Future hosts beware!!.
