This was my second stay at the Inn, and it was just as amazing as the first. Can't recommend this place enough - beautiful home and the hosts are endlessly friendly and accommodating.

The Inn at Abbott Farm may be West Virginia's best kept secret. How many places have you stayed where the owner/chef/concierge greets you with a hug on arrival. The hospitality could not have been better. We were lucky enough to stay on a night when Lisa and Bob were throwing a cook out - we had pulled pork (from their own pigs), spare ribs, potato salad, etc etc etc and Lisa's homemade kimchi. You can't beat the meals. And the bacon the next morning for breakfast. Oh man. If you go for nothing more than the bacon, you're in for a treat. We were in the Charles Donald room which was perfectly spacious and cozy all at the same time. The bathroom - the largest in the Inn - was incredible. Huge walk in rain shower, gorgeous double sink, and plenty of beauty product samples and homemade soap. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

Lisa and Bob made us feel at home and we enjoyed our time staying with them. The house has a few rooms with fireplaces to hang out by and our room was toasty despite the weather this weekend. They provided useful directions and we had a great breakfast this morning.

What a wonderful farm to table experience! Bob & Lisa were friendly & charming hosts who made us feel welcome right away. They have a beautifully decorated home with an adorable puppy…the living space was charming, cozy and well appointed, you can tell a lot of love and care was put into the home...Location is right next to the state park. Can't imagine a better weekend getaway... We are definitely looking forward to the next stay.

What a lovely surprise to find this place in the middle of the Lost River Valley. Great decor, HOMEMADE BACON and eggs from the backyard hens. We had a great weekend in Mathias. Lisa and Bob are attentive and easygoing hosts, making us feel really like we were at home.

My partner and I wanted a night away during Labor Day weekend in West Virginia, so we booked The Charles Donald room. It was delightful and exceeded our expectations. The Inn at Abbott Farm is a true farm-to-table experience in a quiet, beautiful part of eastern West Virginia. The decor and furnishings at the Inn are authentic and reflect the nature of the location but also Lisa and Bob's warm and hospitable spirit. The attention to detail was impeccable, from cleanliness to the offer of wine and a "munchies" plate for when we were peckish late at night. The Inn is not as remote as the lack of cell phone signal would suggest; there are restaurants and shops between 15 and 30 minutes drive. We loved learning about the history of the property and following all the farm animals around. Lisa and Bob were a delight to speak with and made all the guests (they were fully booked our night) feel welcomed. It was great to disconnect (wifi was available in the common areas if needed but I don't recommend) and wake up to the sun and rooster's call. We'll definitely return, hopefully for the autumn foliage!

With my soon-to-be-husband Bob Osterhoudt I can be all things I want to be. In addition to the farm & Inn, I am also a Nationally registered Paramedic working full-time for Hardy County. Bob has done all the restoration of the house and is the ultimate handyman; there is nothing he can't do. I also am an artist, a mother to 2 grown girls and a loyal friend to many.
