Brand new to holiday rental market - our 200 year old stone-built spacious apartment. Quirky and charming yet all the comforts of modern living. Warm and cosy - the perfect getaway place for a couple or small family.

Johns Place is a gorgeous 200 year old stone-built spacious downstairs apartment. It has recently been renovated to a high standard yet remains cosy and quirky with charming features including an original large stone chimney with log burning stove. It is approximately a 10 minute (slow) walk from Alnwick town centre and is easy to find using sat-nav or our instructions included on our listing.
There is free on-street, non-permit parking to the right and rear of the building with both front and rear private doors to enter the apartment. The key-safe entry system will allow convenient, contactless and easy access to the apartment on your arrival. You will have sole use of the apartment during your stay.
The bedroom is beautifully decorated with a real wood feature wall and the double bed is fitted with an additional memory foam mattress topper for extra comfort. Extra pillows, blankets and cushions are provided and there is ample storage for clothing in the dresser and coat hangers are provided in the wardrobe. Certified USB sockets provided on either side of bed behind the side tables. Additionally, we have provided USB wires suitable for a variety of electrical equipment.
Washing tablets & basket, cordless vacuum, steps, iron, ironing board and clothes horse are all provided. The new boiler uses thermostatically controlled central heating and radiators throughout the property (instructions are included in the information pack).
The bathroom is spacious and stylish with both a large bath and walk in shower. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toilet roll and poopouri are provided for use during guests stay. Towels will be provided (one large and medium sized towel per guest, one floor matt and one hand towel per stay – please let us know if you require more).
In the living area there is a comfy pull out corner sofa bed, large enough to sleep two adults or perfect for two or more children (please let us know in advance so extra bedding can be arranged). This sofa should comfortably sit four when not pulled out and there are plenty of cushions and blankets provided for extra comfort. The large fireplace is perfect to keep you warm and cosy at night (instructions for using the burner are included in the information pack). Firelighters, kindling and one large bag of firewood are provided (additional firewood can be purchased if required). The brand new 42" LED Smart TV has freeview channels and access to Netflix, Youtube Prime, BBC iPlayer, ITV HUB etc (you will need to use your own log-in details) with our free unlimited fibre broadband (username and password are in the information pack). Additionally, there are books, DVDs, board games, children’s games, packs of cards, colouring in and drawing books for our guests to use during their stay. There is a dining table large enough to seat four, with placemats, coasters and napkins all provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a brand-new induction hob, large multifunction oven and full-sized fridge freezer (instructions in the information folder). Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, sweeteners will be provided as well as a basic larder including biscuits, cereals, herbs, salt, pepper, pasta, etc. The cutlery, glassware, crockery, pans, cooking utensils and slow cooker are all new and should allow basic and more advanced cooking if required.
To the rear of the apartment is a good sized gated private yard with decorative plants and a large garden table and bench seats. Additionally there is a new brick (coal) BBQ built which will be perfect for guests to use in the warmer months especially as the patio is a sun trap in the afternoon (please note guests will be required to clean the BBQ after they have used it).
There is outdoor lighting fitted and private bin storage. A new addition to the patio area is a Sold Secure Gold ground anchor fitted into concrete with four masonary screws. This can be used to secure bikes etc however guests will need to provide their own lock and do so at their own risk.

IF ANY GUESTS HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 PRIOR TO THEIR ARRIVAL WE STRONGLY ADVISE THEY DO NOT TRAVEL, STAY AT HOME & SELF ISOLATE AS PER GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE.
IF ANYONE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO IS COVID-19 POSITIVE OR HAS SYMPTOMS PLEASE FOLLOW GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE AND INFORM US IMMEDIATELY.
IF ANY GUESTS DEVELOP ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 DURING THEIR STAY WE STRONGLY ADVISE THEY STAY INSIDE, WEAR A MASK & GLOVES AND INFORM US IMMEDIATELY (if this happens all of the guests will have to leave and return home immediately so a deep clean can be carried out. If the guests is severely unwell we advise they seek medical help IMMEDIATELY).

Hosts of John’s Place
- Our contactless check-in will continue using our keysafe—the keys will be cleaned between guests
- Risk assessment carried out on apartment (located in information pack)
- Check-in time is usually 6pm. Check-out time has been amended to 11am to allow a great time between guests (and more time for deeper cleaning )
- There will now be an approximate time period of 8 hours between guests
- All internal surfaces will be cleaned using disinfectant cleaning products effective against the COVID-19 virus . Standardised cleaning regime clarified and will be documented for each guest
- Larder food provided have been reduced and are in individual packets/wipeable storage containers where possible
- Our cleaners will be using PPE (eg gloves), wash their hands /use alcohol gel regularly during the cleaning of the apartment
- Alcohol gel is provided for our guests—please feel free to use when entering/ leaving the apartment
- All handwash provided is antibacterial
- Disinfectant wipes and spray cleaning products are provided in the cupboard under the kitchen sink and in the bathroom cabinet.
- All taps and showers have been run regularly to ensure the risk of legionella is minimised
- All windows have a safety latch—if possible please leave all window on this safety latch for ventilation (temperature permitting)
- We welcome and support any guests wanting to use their own linen/food/personal belongings if it is their preference
-We welcome communication from guests at any time if any concerns or questions arise

NEW CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS

PRIOR TO CHECKOUT WE WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF ALL GUESTS CAN:
- STRIP THE BED AND PLACE ANY USED LINEN AND TOWELS IN THE PLASTIC CONTAINER (WITH THE LID ON) IN THE WASHING MACHINE ROOM/CUPBOARD.
- CLEAR THE FRIDGE / FREEZER / CUPBOARDS OF LEFTOVERS/UNWANTED ITEMS
- EMPTY ALL RUBBISH AND RECYCLING FROM THE APARTMENT INTO THE BINS LOCATED IN THE BIN STORE ON THE PATIO (rear of the apartment)
- ENSURE ALL USED CUTLERY, CROCKERY AND GLASSWARE ETC IS WASHED IN HOT SOAPY WATER AND PUT AWAY WHEN DRY
- IF POSSIBLE PLEASE LEAVE ALL WINDOWS ON THE SAFETY LATCH FOR VENTILATION (temperature permitting)

We would really appreciate all our guests helping us by carrying out the tasks above, as doing so will greatly reduce the risk to our cleaners and allow them more time to deep clean.

All located within an 1.5hr drive from Alnwick are tourist places such as Seahouses, Craster, Farne Islands, Berwick, Holy Island, Hadrians Wall, Bamburgh, Walkworth, Amble, Kielder just to name a few.
