Your retro 2-bedroom getaway feels like a quiet vacation bungalow, complete with a full wall of glass windows, vaulted ceiling with cozy spaces, and a house full of art. All while still being in a perfect location. Walking distance to NC State or Centennial Campus or just a 5 minute bike ride to downtown.
A private 2 bedroom (1 queen, 1 twin), 1 bath space with a full kitchen and living room.
Your entrance is at the front of the property. This cozy airbnb house is attached to the house where Aly and Beth live. The two spaces are attached but are entirely separate living spaces with private entrances.
The front house (where you will be) was original to the neighborhood development in the 1940's and was purchased by renowned architect, James Fitzgibbon, who renovated it heavily, gave it his own take on mid-century modern, and then added a modernist cube to the back where Aly and Beth live.
The neighborhood is small, quirky and sweet and backs up to a huge area of majestic oaks and green space, Dorothea Dix Park. We are walking distance to Pullen Park, a beautiful and fun park for kids, complete with carousel, paddle boats and a mini passenger train.

If we are in town, we can interact with and help our guests however you see fit. We also work within 5 minutes of the house, so are easily accessible should needs arise. We will likely see each other as we come in and out, but definitely respect your privacy. We have 2 small children and a dog in our space.
Do you have pet allergies?: We have a dog on the premises who is sometimes in the apartment space with us when people are not renting. There has not been a cat in the apartment.
Apartment is at the front of the property, accessible only by stairs.
We have a queen air mattress if needed.
We have a play yard for toddler use.
We would like for our guests to behave like nice considerate people :-)
The few "No's" I can think of are:
• No Smoking
• No more than 3 people staying in the place without talking with us ahead of time
• Quiet-ish time after 10pm
Hi! My husband and I have lived in Raleigh for over 15 years. We are both designers, and have a product design and branding consultancy downtown. We love to travel and are continuously inspired by the creativity of the people we know and meet - whether it is at home or away. We have 2 children and a dog, so our lives are full of fun, noise and chaos.
That photo I use for this profile cracks me up. We're at an airport (I think) and my husband is obviously on a very serious phone call. Dunno who the super creepy dude is in far background...
