The house was advertised as "hidden paradise" - our first impression was leaning more toward eccentric gothic gypsy style. The garden was beautiful and adorned heavily with statues of angels and demons. In front of the downstairs bedroom stacked a used dirty sofa. Heavy stench of…

I take all of my reviews seriously and would like to respond to the review by TueAnn as follows: My description of my rental on AirBNB states that my home is “unique, exotic and fun– perfect for travelers who love animal prints and antiques; a truly unique get-away experience. The home was originally built in the 1850’s ….. We want you to enjoy our home as your own!” I think the description is enough to let you know that our home is on the artsy side! Not only is the description that we provide on AirBNB accurate, we provide color pictures of all the rooms, including beds, kitchen, bathrooms and gardens. We have angels and gargoyles in our garden – there are no demons I can assure you! BEFORE we commit to renting our home to anyone, I ALWAYS ask the would-be renter if he/she has read all the information about our home. I confirm that they understand that check-in is at 3p.m. and that we cannot do early check-ins, as well as confirm that they understand that check-out is at 10 a.m. In the case with TueAnh and her party in our first texts on June 26th, I asked if she had read the description about my home. She did not respond, instead she asked for the address. I explained that we cannot give out the address until the house has been booked. I again asked her to confirm that she had read the description of the house and to confirm that she had read the additional information I had sent her that explained about the rules of our home. I also let her know that we reside at the back of the property in an RV with a fence that divides it from the home. We do not invade on their privacy. Finally, I asked her to make sure her entire party was forwarded this information on our house. Although it was difficult to get her to confirm that she had read the description and other information sent to her, she finally confirmed saying “yes we have, it looks fine. Thank you for your information." On the day they were to arrive I sent them a text letting them know that I was not feeling well but explained where the keys were to get in, we had texted about parking and that check in was at 3 p.m. We had several general texts and a couple of phone calls about various things, including the house rules, and general cleanup of the home upon departure, where to put their garbage and again reminding them that check out time was at 10 a.m. They arrived at 2, clearly not following the check in times; I still had my cleaning people finishing up on the house. They were in the front and backyard gardens as there were 15 people in their party. I sent a text explaining that they could not check in until 3, but for reasons that are not clear to me, TueAnh acted as if she did not understand what I was telling her. I finally gave up trying to explain that check in was at 3 p.m. and let them hang out in my yard. As the day flowed into the evening, the aroma of food cooking along with the sound of their party music and laughter filled the air inside and outside the house. After spending over eight hours in our home, we received a call from AirBnB telling us that our guests were leaving our home and wanted their money back. Needless to say, I was very surprised by this. If they had found our home not to their liking they should have said something BEFORE they hung out at my home cooking in our kitchen and hosting a dinner party for 15 guests, listening to music, they had been in and out of all the rooms, on the beds, used the restrooms, and using my utilities and my garbage cans. Frankly, who does that? Because I had guests arriving the next day, the house had to be cleaned again. Not only was the review by TueAnh unflattering, it was also unfair and inaccurate. I take a personal offence to the comment she wrote that I lock up my pets behind a door! First of all I am an animal activist and my fur babies are my children! I also take pride in my home being clean, warm, inviting and fun. The hardest part about being an airbnb host is when people write an untrue review. Nothing about my home should have been a surprise to TruAnh especially since she confirmed stating “yes we have, it looks fine. Thank you for your information.” Thank you for reviewing my response to TruAnh’s negative review.
Miss Kitty's place is so unique- colorful and artsy! There is so much room to spread out and find a nice relaxing spot to hang out or take a nap! I rented the house for a bunch of my friends and I for my sister's wedding weekend and it's definitely a great place for a large group…
