Trailer is located in a ridge top countryside location with expansive view of farmland and forests. Trailer has good appliances and cookware and is being actively maintained for nature/farm loving tourists. Farm is 5km from Mabou.
The trailer is next to a 170 year old farm house and is part of a farm that has been actively farmed for as many years. It features a well maintained old style barn that is currently used to store square bales of hay and as a launching point for many projects around the farm. We hope to turn the farm into a mini winery at some point and are growing grape vines, apples, pears, and blue berry plants to eventually supply the juice. The farm is close to wild areas that you can explore if you want to get close to nature. In the fall, this is a good spot to see multicolored foliage nearby and throughout the backroads of Glencoe. We are only 5 km away from all the services of Mabou which in turn is close to beaches, trails, and many beautiful vistas that attract many tourists each year. We keep things organic around here but are not organically certified.
Guest can roam the property including vineyards & orchards, wooded areas, and outbuildings. If there are vegetables available (e.g., potatoes, vegetable squash, romaine lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, corn) feel free to pick some for a meal.
Feel free to chat with me while I'm outside working or come by the house to talk. I may not always be around the property as the farm is a second property with my main property being in Truro.
We have farmland around us and the wooded areas of Glencoe nearby. We are located on a high elevation with long days of sun when it it out. You can see a few neighboring houses around the property but they are around 1/2 km from the farm.
You will generally want to get around by car. You could get around by bike but you would have a long climb (approx 4 km) to get to the farm. We are located around 1 km beyond the end of the pavement on the main dirt road heading to Glencoe. If you like driving the backroads of Cape Breton you can do that here, or you can stay on the pavement roads.
Please don't smoke in the house and please don't block the lane when you park. Feel free to explore the farm and talk with me when I'm outside.
