We picked this place above others because it had great reviews and we liked that Tyler rents bikes and surf boards. There are a couple things we wish we had known though. The surf boards look to be in great condition but if you don't plan to rent a car (we did not) you will be carrying them a fair distance to the beach. This is not terrible but we soon realized there are places that are practically on the beach that rent for the same price and lets you store them there so you don't have to carry them. The second thing is the bikes... someone on here wrote they were in great condition. I couldn't disagree more. They're old bikes that haven't had much if any maintenance. The fenders rub on the wheels, the shifters/derailers clearly haven't been tuned in ages as they shift randomly. Tyler's selection criteria for the bikes was "choose which ever one looks to have the best tires". Unfortunately the bike with the best tires actually had a bent valve and we couldn't get the pump on it. So I went to bike number two which appeared nearly flat. Tyler had his gardener pump it up for me but it wouldn't seem to hold much pressure. I had wondered if the bike pump wasn't working or if the tube had a leak but hoped that it would hold anyway. We rode straight to the beach (which is not much further than few hundred meters) but no further because the tire was already flat. This was a minor annoyance but its part of life and not a big deal. The thing that really annoyed me however is when Tyler blamed me for the bike and asked me to buy him a new tire tube. I actually thought he was joking at first. If the tire was fine before I rode it I would have forked over the cash but it clearly wasn't. It wasn't the money that bothered me, it was the concept of being asked to pay for something that was already broken. That being said, I don't think Tyler is a bad guy and it was just a lapse in judgement. He seems like someone you could have a beer with. He gave us great recommendations for food and is pretty friendly overall. The housing was quite comfortable. The area is quiet. I recommend it as long as you do not plan to use his bikes.
