This 17th Century Cotswold house boasts a wealth of traditional architectural features and is set in the heart of an idyllic village 2 miles outside of Bampton. It offers a luxury stay for those looking to experience the perfect Cotswolds getaway.

Le logement

Stoneycroft is a Grade II listed house originally built as two croft cottages and has undergone extensive restoration and addition of a new gallery wing in the past few years. The cottage wing has a formal English garden to the front of the house and a Cyprus tree-lined path that leads to its own front door. The cottage wing of the house has an entrance porch with a cloakroom for Wellie's and coats. The ground floor of the cottage comprises of a Living Room with an Inglenook Fireplace for open log fires, a Dining Room with an Inglenook Fireplace with a gas fire, a morning room that leads upstairs to the first floor comprising three bedrooms and separate family bathroom with a walk-in shower and bathtub. The door in the dinning opens to a large bespoke country kitchen with breakfast area.


We provide our guests with travelling size still water bottles, bacon from the local butchers, free range eggs, loaf of bread, pastries, orange juice, tea, milk, yogurt, fruit and freshly ground and brewed coffee of your choice from the built-in coffee machine. The kitchen is stocked with all the breakfast items mentioned above so that our guests can leisurely cook and enjoy breakfast in the morning.

Guests staying at Stoneycroft access the cottage wing using the main entrance door and will be able to park their vehicles in the parking area to the front of the property as seen in the gallery section.
Guests will have sole use of the cottage wing as mentioned above and the gardens to the front of the property and may only be able to access the rear gardens with permission from the owners.

Our guests are also able to use the village tennis court, which is a 2 minute walk from the house and also has a secure children's play area.

Échanges avec les voyageurs

Stoneycroft comprises of the cottage wing built around 1660 and a new gallery wing built in 2012 to the rear of the property. The owners will be living in the new gallery wing of the house, which has a separate entrance and private gardens to the rear of the property. The owners will be available whenever necessary to assist with any queries.

The cottage wing of the house is completely private to guests staying and floor plans of the cottage can be viewed in the photo gallery. The owners will be there to greet guests upon arrival and show them around the house. In the winter months, the log fireplace will be swept and reset daily at a convenient time for the guests.

Autres remarques

Please note that the owners provide a complimentary service of setting up the log fire daily in the winter months. However, we are at times unable to provide this service in the rare occasions we are having to be away but will always leave the cottage well stocked with logs and kindling.

The cottage is supplied with a standard amount of logs sufficient for open fires in the evening and any excess amount of logs will have to purchased by guests.

Ben's cottage is fantastic and as described. The photos don't do it justice. If you are looking for a country getaway, then this is the place. There's also a small little pub two doors down which serves loverly traditional food.

We had a fantastic stay at Ben's cottage and was a great base from which to explore the Cotswolds. The cottage is immaculate, comfortable and very cosy. Ben was the perfect host; always available to help out. We would thoroughly recommend.

This is a stunning cottage which was even more gorgeous in real life. We used it as a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds, we were a group of 4 adults with a 4 year old and two babies under one and there was plenty of room for all of us. The front garden also provided us with great space to enjoy an alfresco lunch whilst soaking up the weather during a surprisingly sunny bank holiday weekend! Ben was the perfect host right from our initial enquiries, helped us with restaurant recommendations, sourced us a babysitter and insured we had a truly enjoyable family trip away, I can't recommend this property enough!

I highly recommend Bens cottage for a couples get together. Beautiful setting, immaculately decorated and fantastic service from Ben. Also the pub next door has fantastic food for those staying in.

We had a great weekend at Ben's cottage. It is tastefully decorated and his attention to detail makes it very homely and comfortable. Ben's was very helpful and left us breakfast and lots of nice things to make our stay easier and more enjoyable. He also provide some great tips for dinner and lunch in nearby pubs. The cottage is really well situated to visit the best parts of the Cottswolds. I would highly recommend it!

Ben is a fabulous host and his house lived up to our expectations. It is a lovely traditional cosy home with a modern kitchen and bathroom. Ben provided lots of delicious breakfast items which meant we didn't have to bother shopping which was a great help as the shops are a little distance away. We enjoyed staying at Ben's house and would definitely return if visiting the district again.

One of the most beautiful places I have stayed. The cottage is exquisite and only made more lovely by the very charming Ben. A once in a lifetime experience that really should not be missed!

Ben graduated from Oxford & Cambridge in 2010 and embarked on the restoration of this wonderful house with his partner and two Airedale terriers, Lily & Iris. The house has undergone an enormous transformation in the last few years and has all the original features of this 17th-Century house restored by a team of highly skilled traditional craftsmen.

Whilst still working on the house in the Cotswolds, Ben has also been working on several other refurbishment projects and is currently completing work on a property in West Hollywood, California.
