Recently refurbished and still a work in progress, our rustic home in the town of Forrest is a wonderful place to stay whether you are exploring the Otways, the Great Ocean road, having dinner at Brae, or just spending a weekend discovering Forrest's mountain bike trails and brewery.

Le logement
Our rustic cottage has been recently refurbished, with a new kitchen and updated living areas. Nonetheless, it is old and pretty basic, so it is important that you read the rest of this description and ensure that it will be suitable for you.

The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, whilst the second bedroom has four single beds in the form of two sets of single bunks. Heating is provided by the wood heater in the kitchen and an open fire place in the living room - please bring your own firewood!

Important information:

The house is very draughty, so it's a good idea to pack your sleeping bags and slippers for those cold Otways nights! It is old and has some quirks that make it hard to heat and cool. The main heating comes from the wood heater in the kitchen, which does not heat the whole house. If you are staying on colder nights, bring warm bedding and wear warm clothes. There is no cooling in the house other than a pedestal fan, so keep this in mind on really hot days or nights. Finally, the windows in the main bedroom and the bathroom are the old glass panelled louvre type (see pictures). They're not ideal as the let the cool or hot air in from outside, but they make up for it in character! This means that precautions need to be taken to prevent the bugs and mozzies from getting in, including shutting some of the doors, putting the carpet snakes in place and giving the house a spray in the evening.

We only provide pillows and mattresses. Guests will need to provide their own pillowcases, towels, quilts and bedlinen. I ask that all guests send me a scanned copy of a drivers licence or passport for identification purposes before I will accept their booking.

The house is pet friendly, but please ensure that you clean up fur and poo before you head off!
