Our holiday home will bring you peace and sun in an excellent walking and cycling area and between the vineyards of Eger. Come and enjoy the many birds and butterflies or visit one of the 10 thermal spas in the area.

Le logement
Our home is in a dead end street in the village of Sály 2 kilometres south of the Bükk National Park. Around the house is a garden with fruit trees with lots of birds and butterflies. From the house you can easily go walking in the area. It is a hilly area with alternating farmland, vineyards, forest and rugged land.

Our colourful Hungarian village home is 110 sq. m. and completely renovated. The kitchen and bathroom are furnished to Western standards. Information about the surroundings is available.

A holiday in our holiday home stands for peace, space, privacy and exuberant enjoyment of Hungarian life. A glass of wine in the evening sun, homemade goulash with baguettes and the rustling of the wind through the trees in the garden. That is called feasting of life.

Our holiday home has a living room with sitting area, two bedrooms, an open plan kitchen with dining room and a bathroom. It is a large house with a beautiful view from the rear hall, through the kitchen and the dining room to the living room.

The living room is spacious and light. There is free Wi-Fi, you can bring your laptop and tablet and choose fun day trips during your holiday. There is a 3-seater sofa and there are 2 armchairs with a coffee table. There is also a small library with novels, thrillers, literature and children's books.

The spacious open plan kitchen is fully equipped including a fridge / freezer, kettle and coffee maker and oven. You can cook on the electric stove. There are two large dining tables, so you can eat together with two families or friends.

In the kitchen there is a lazy rocking chair, made from reed from the river Tisza. A great chair to relax in after a long day of trips. Cosy drinking a glass together while cooking, or lying down with a newspaper, magazine or book, is also possible.

One bedroom has a double bed, the other 3 single beds. The beds are good and have good mattresses. Linen, pillows and duvets are provided. There is ample closet space for your clothes in both bedrooms. There is extra linen for chilly nights. Both bedrooms are spacious.

In the bathroom is a large shower room with sink. Here is also the toilet that is separated from the shower. There is a washing machine that you can use freely. Hot water for the shower and the kitchen goes through a 120 litre boiler.

Our house has a driveway with enough space for two cars. There are various types of flowers in the garden. This makes the whole a colourful appearance. There is 1000 sq. m. of garden with apple trees, pear trees, cherry trees and peach trees.

There is a garden table with 5 garden chairs and there is a goulash cooking pot, so you can cook goulash and barbecue on the open fire just like the Hungarians! In the covered area there is also a wine barrel with 6 stools.

There are some nice, authentic Hungarian elements in the house, such as Hungarian bottles and a Hungarian pot for sauerkraut. In the hall is a cupboard painted in the colours of the Matyó, one of the Hungarian tribes in this region.

The surroundings of the Bükk Mountains are a great cycling area. At Eger, for example, there is a special cycle route along the vineyards. In Sály you can rent mountain bikes (€ 7 p / d and € 35 p / w per bicycle) from a Dutch village companion.

The children will enjoy themselves in 1000 sq. m. of garden. If they prefer to play a game, or read, that is possible. There are games in Holland Ház and there are children's books.

Our dog Jip always enjoys the freedom in the garden. Of course your pet is also welcome in our holiday home. The garden is completely fenced.

In the house is a description of hiking trails in the area and we have compiled a travel guide with tips for the region. We will send it to you after reservation.

Accès des voyageurs
Guests will have access to the complete house, including 1000 sq.m garden.

Autres points à prendre en note
In the summer it is often hot in Hungary. Our advice is to keep windows and doors closed during the day. Then the house stays nice and cool. Airing is the most convenient in the morning or in the evening.

About the environment

Our holiday home is in the village of Sály. In Sály there are a few shops, village bars, a doctor, pharmacy and post office. A village supermarket for sandwiches, fillings, coffee, soft drinks and other basic necessities is a 10 min walk away.

Charming Sály is a quiet village and ideal for bird watchers and butterfly lovers. Hikers can make long walks in the area with magnificent views over rapeseed fields and beautiful views of the beech trees of Bükk.

There are plenty of swimming pools and aqua palaces in the area, as well as cultural trips and sporting pleasures, for example on Lake Tisza.
