Get away from it all in a secluded home atop a mountain in the VT National Forest. Home with large deck and panoramic view of the Green Mountains. Idyllic in all seasons. Tons of privacy, but minutes from lovely town of Rochester. Swimming pond at the bottom of the hill and easy access to hiking, biking, and tubing in the summer.

Le logement
**Vermont requires all out-of-state visitors to be 2 weeks past final vaccination shot OR have pre-visit COVID test. In your request to book, please tell us that you will be adhering to the requirements. You will be signing a Certificate of Compliance before getting access to the house.**

We love our vacation home! It has been in the family for the 40 years since we built it and well cared for that whole time. Uniquely situated, the house is 10 minutes from the town of Rochester, but high up in the hills on 2 acres of land. The photos do not even begin to do justice to our view. The house is the perfect combination of rustic cabin with comforts of home.

We have 3 closed bedrooms (2 with queen beds and one with 2 twins) and a queen-sized futon in an open room on the lower level. The deck extends the length of the house and has a 180-degree view of the Green Mountains. One of the highlights of the home is the large built-in stone wood-burning fireplace.

There is a large set of stairs to climb to the entrance of the house.

The house is updated in its amenities, but still rustic in its charm. We have a fridge, range, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee machine, extra-large capacity washer and dryer, and small gas grill. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking all meals. But it still feels like a remote cabin, filled with books to read and large sofas for relaxing in front of the fire.

We have wi-fi and a smart TV that has a Netflix subscription.

In the Great Hawk housing community, at the bottom of the mountain, there is a swimming pond and a play structure for kids.

We also have a pack-n-play, clip-on highchair, toys, board games, etc. It's a great home for kids of all ages.

Short drive to many hikes, including the Long Trail. Great location for road bicycling and river tubing. Berry picking (wild and farm) nearby in July and August.

**Please note that we are NOT offering an enhanced cleaning protocol at this time. Our protocol remains the same-- clean linens and towels, and surfaces cleaned with antibacterial products as usual. Our things still remain in the house, including food in cupboards, books on shelves, and a few items hanging in closets.**

Rochester, Vermont, États-Unis

In the community housing, there is a swimming pond and a small playground. Hiking or snowshoeing is right outside your door. The house is in the Green Mountain National Forest, centrally located to get to great hiking on the Long Trail and other national park sites, berry picking, tubing down the White River and swimming holes.

Rochester is a charming New England town that has a local supermarket and state liquor store. Great local dining includes five stellar choices- an upscale diner for breakfast and lunch (and one of the last soda shops in Vermont), bakery/cafe featuring great coffee, baked goods, and vegetarian fare (and free wifi), Maple Soul (local farm to table dinner in a small cozy environment), Doc's Tavern (often with live music) and the Huntington House dining room. We also have an art gallery and bike shop. There is an organic pick-your-own berry farm just outside of town (blueberries and raspberries!).

PLEASE NOTE: The house is part of a housing community (Great Hawk) with ordinances regarding noise and disruptive behavior. There should be no noise audible outside the home at any time. We are also in the National Forest, which means that it is criminal to use fireworks or have outdoor fires of any kind. In addition you must observe speed limit of 30 MPH. All terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, and RVs are not allowed on Great Hawk. Hunting or firearms also prohibited.
