Giorgio's place is in a beautiful location on a hilltop overlooking the Chianti Valley, a 10-15 minute walk from Panzano. The house is divided into three units, with Giorgio's brother's family on the right, and his uncle on the left. They access their units from the other side of the property. The apartment is essentially behind the front door and in the tower in the main picture. His apartment is immaculate, is well furnished, and it has nice views from the rooms. The beds are comfortable too. We only made coffee and boiled eggs, but there's a full kitchen. There are a number of stairs required to climb, in case that's an issue for you (wasn't for us). In the main photo, you can see steps leading to the front door. Inside the front door, there are about 8-10 steps to get to the main level, then a few steps to get to the two main floor bedrooms, and another staircase to get to the third bedroom at the top of the tower. Giorgio met us in Panzano, guided us to the apartment, showed us around the apartment, and gave us a bottle of wine as an arrival present. Grazie, Giorgio! He was very gracious when we called to reschedule our arrival because we were running late. We couldn't get the heat working, so Giorgio came up to turn it on day or so later. If it's cold in the apartment when you arrive, ask him to make sure it's on. He and his girlfriend Chiara were very easy to get in touch with. The apartment is about 50 minutes from Florence, about an hour from Siena and San Gimignano, and a bit further to Volterra, so it's very centrally located, but very quiet. There are plenty of great places to eat in and around Panzano (Ristoro Lamole and Trattoria Le Panzanelle in particular), and make sure to do a wine tasting at Stefano's (Academia del Buon Gusto) near the church. All in all, it was a great experience. I'd stay with Giorgio again.
