The Wampanoag cabin has a queen size bed, a full bath, a mini fridge, a writing desk, wood floor, AC and heat but the magic of this cabin is in the surrounding forest. Enjoy reading in your own Rock garden or making s’mores in your own firepit while watching the most stunning Berkshires sunset. Fire up the grill and make dinner the main event of the day! Share nothing with no one but the person you brought. Write the next chapter of your life now that you have time, space and serenity. Breathe!

Le logement
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

COVID-19 changed everything, including The Wigwam.

We call it “Better Living,” rather than vacationing. What guests are booking is a slice of the Berkshires, with a cabin in the woods thrown in for "free." Each guest get a campsite, an outdoor living room, a firepit, an outdoor dining area with a private picnic table, and a park-style charcoal grill.

The greatest change, however, is in the back mountains of the Wigwam. This work has been backbreaking, though foundational to reflect the changes we wish to interact with our cabin guests. To start out with we’ve created a contactless check in and check out process.

For starters, we believe vacations will change – guests will appreciate services being done without personal interaction. People will have a renewed appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. In anticipation for a different business model we have cleared over two acres of our land to create a nature sanctuary for our cabin guests. The acre to cabin ratio is approximately 1:1 so guests have room to socially distance themselves while enjoying what mother nature has to offer. We have groomed our private trail so guests can walk to the old Wigwam watering hole, creek and connect to the Hoosac Range Trail without going to the trail head.

In addition, we’re in the process of creating a rock garden for guests to enjoy and pathways to make the adventure into the wild side a little easier on bare feet.

Our guests are reserving a slice of the Berkshires when they book a vacation at the Wigwam Nature’s Retreat. We will offer concierge service over the phone and through our website to do everything we can to make your stay relaxing and worry-free.

We have a BYOB (bring your own bedding) option where guests can choose to bring their own linens and towel. We will disinfect all surfaces and the bathrooms between each guest stays.

Guests can make s’mores, play the guitar, hike and hang out in their private forest to plan their next phase. The Wigwam is prepared to play a pivoting role to help our guests to make the transition…

We have implemented a flexible reservations policy for this summer, and reservations can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. Our opening date will comply with State regulations and we are grateful for your flexibility.

Accès des voyageurs
Guest have full access of the Wigwam Western Summit private trail, their assigned fire pit and hammocks, picnic areas and the look out. Guests are also invited to visit the Wigwam Coffee house on the property.

Autres points à prendre en note
If guests choose the BYOB (bring your own beddings & Towel option, the host will refund $45 of the cleaning fee.

I've recently retired after working over 30 years in the corporate and non profit world. In 2017 I made the big move from the Bay area back to the DC area to be closer to the family and to take care of my 80 year old mom who was diagnosed with cancer. I've traveled all over the world and I particularly enjoy Europe, India, South Africa, Egypt and China. I have used Airbnb on multiple occasions as a guest and I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I love being outdoors and I enjoy hiking, gardening and running. If you would like to go for a trail run or a hike I would be more than happy to take you!
