A secluded glampsite on a family-owned working farm in Ayrshire’s Girvan Valley; a short drive from the scenic village of Kirkmichael.

The site is in an 'oh-so-peaceful spot' with a lovely rural vibe among fields where cows and sheep wander. If you're up for 'one of a kind' experiences, then you'll love our glampsite. The Yurt can sleep up to 4 comfortably with an extra air mattress. Child and dog friendly.

Le logement
You'll be looking for a getaway where you can truly 'switch-off' from the hustle and bustle of the world and reconnect with the earth around you. On arrival, we will provide a wheelbarrow for ferrying everything to and from the Yurt. Yes, you really are secluded and completely private; tucked away in rural bliss. The farm is a working farm, so please drive slowly and take your time navigating the driveway. A wee stream runs between the parking area and yurt field, so take care when crossing the bridge.

The Yurt itself sits a short walk from the parking area. The interior is stylishly decorated with warm colours and great comfort. The wood-burning stove means the Yurt is always cosy and warm. There's a classic French bed, squishy sofa (also a sofabed), we can also supply an air mattress for children or extra guests.

The "cookhouse" provides a small gas stove where you can cook or make hot refreshements. The shop in Kirkmichael has all basic provisions (not licensed) and has a good cafe currently only open 9-3. Also in the village, the Kirkmichael Arms is open every day for drinks, lunch and dinner. The coast with its scenic coastal towns of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon are also closeby.

A complimentary basket of logs for the stove. £8 for a refill. We will supply containers of water for drinking and washing free of charge. Dogs are £10 per stay which can be paid locally.

We offer a truly unique experience and if you want to bring more friends you are welcome to pitch a tent for an extra fee of £10; there is plenty of space and parking. Our fire pit offers a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the wide-open spaces. We also have an eco-loo. Our eco-shower will be available from August 2020!

No matter your intention, our Yurt will offer you a truly secret escape where you can rest and recharge.

Autres points à prendre en note
With the sun rising early in the summer, you may wish to bring an eye mask- if you're easily disturbed by the lighter mornings. The birds are also quite happy at the break of dawn, so you may also wish to bring earplugs, but that's only if birdsong is a bother.

Kirkmichael, Écosse, Royaume-Uni

Check out our quaint village, Kirkmichael where you can get a bite to eat, enjoy a pint and pick-up additional supplies.

There are dozens of castles within easy reach of the site, but explores should probably start 10 minutes’ drive from base in the gardens of Blairquhan Castle. If that’s whetted appetites for old and stately piles, travel onwards to the spectacular clifftop Culzean Castle and Country Park (20 minutes) and the sprawling grounds and extensive Chippendale collection at Dumfries House (30).

As a neat way to segue from castles to Scotland’s famous pastime – golf – make ways to the 13th-century Rowallan Castle (40 minutes) for drives and putts on the golf course with two 19th holes (one literal, one of the traditional variety).

Closer to home base, urban days should be spent in the town of Maybole (10 minutes) – where guests can play golf, go to the swimming pool, or pass time in Scotland’s biggest indoor play area (Pirate Pete’s) – or by shopping, having a day at the races or lazing about on beaches in Ayr (20 minutes).

For a strong taste of Scottish cultural history, be sure to travel to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum (15 minutes) to learn about the famed poet, and get a feel for island life by exploring castles, distilleries, art galleries and stone circles on Arran (45 minutes’ drive and a 55-minute ferry crossing away).
