A veces resulta delicioso tomar el té y galletitas en el jardín, si tienen tiempo me encantará agasajarlos.

Luz's house is very unique, full of magical spaces, gardens, homewares and charming details. This Airbnb is worth staying in for this reason. Cayoacan is a beautiful local neighborhood but keep in mind it's at least a 30-40 min drive from downtown. I'd recommend staying a day or two and then shifting a little closer into town to be closer to other destinations.

I must state my disappointment over a french press. Luz accused my partner and I of breaking it. We did not but still agreed to replace it because I did not want any bad blood with the host. She requested $90 for a new one which is incredibly steep. I told her I felt like that was too much so she said to send her money for an uber and find one in town at a fairer price. Again, extremely disappointed. I decided to buy one myself and send it to her. It did not cost me $90.

Erica As you know, I received you in The Casita with everything in order and working. Alas, this is the first experience I have had in which something was broken and the visitor left without reporting the fact. I simply asked you to solve the issue as you considered adequate. You decided to send the apparatus and I thanked you for your decision. You are welcome in the Casita should you return to Mexico. Luz

The two of us spent 5 weeks at the Casita. The location is, indeed, perfect. A short walk to Line 2 Metro which takes you straight into the heart of the city and also just one stop to the Tren Ligero which takes you to La Noria station and a 5 min walk to the wonderful Museo Dolores Olmeda, which we highly recommend (16th century converted buildings in achingly beautiful grounds peppered with Peacocks and THE best collection of Diego and Frieda’s work (Dolores Olmeda was their good friend); there’s also a good collection of prehispanic art. You won’t want to leave the extensive gardens. Oh, and they have the best gift shop ANYWHERE, with lovely, good quality artisan items (not the gaudy, mass-produced end of the Tren Ligero line, Xoximilco, has the best indoor markets (they take up 2 large squares opposite each other) and also the famous canals. You have to run the gauntlet of people trying to take you to their Embarcaderos. If you want to take a punting trip there is an official site online to booked ahead if your Spanish isn’t very good as they will pick you up from station and won’t overcharge. We really liked the centro of town (the part to get their near the station is to be passed by ASAP) - it has some of the oldest buildings in CDMX, oh, and did we mention the markets! Churobusco is a very tranquil part of the city, lovely parks nearby and the Casita is set back from the road overlooking the lovely garden fountain so nights are very relaxed and calm. The Casita style is a rustic, shabby chic with charming details in every corner, highly imaginative attention to the décor makes you feel well settled and in a proper home straight away. The Kitchen has all the requirements for creating a meal. No teapot though so we brought one and left it as we like our cups of tea! There is pipping hot water and high pressure for showers, etc and a very good WC – though you need to me sure that it doesn’t stick and keep flowing by jiggling the flush handle as if left it would use up gallons and gallons of water. It doesn’t happen very often (only about 5 times in the 5 weeks we were there). Be carful not to turn the hot water in the kitchen sink on too high as it will spray you with water (due to very high water pressure level). There is an excellent WIFI download and upload speed with exceptionally reliable signal (in 5 weeks we only were out a few times and for less than 15mins). The modem is in the Casita so easy to reboot. WIFI speed is critical for us as we use it for our work and we have stayed at other places where there is only a signal in a particular part of the building. The whole of the Casita has good reception...

Amazing place with beautiful reclaimed wood, custom deco doors and windows, lush garden, great tv with Netflix, shower with shampoo and conditioner, and fully stocked kitchen with French press, toaster, condiments. We took uber from airport for $7 (25mins ride). Ubered everywhere since it never cost more than $8 to get to hip neighborhoods such as La Roma, La Condesa, and downtown Zocale (each about 20-30 mins away). Walked to cute Coyacon market-20 mins- filled with local produce and cheese, little eateries, and fun shopping for local goods such as embroidered tops. Yummy seafood place called El Jardin de Pulpo adjacent to market with amazing grilled garlic octopus and abalone. Best coffee is a 10 mins walk away called El Jarocho- must try their spicy mocha for only$1.50. Frida Kahlo museum near market is nice-closed on Mondays. Luz and her husband are very kind and helpful. Local neighborhood is peaceful and quiet.
