Apart from Andy and I we have an amazing local team of 3 Dominicans who will be looking after you. Son our neighbour is the key holder and a wonderful knowledgeable 74 year old local character. Caso is the local guide and looks after the properties and gardens. Christine is the housekeeper. They are all delightful and well worth chatting to.
There are numerous places to visit in the North. Cabrits National Park and historic Fort Shirley is well worth a visit, and less than 10 minutes drive. Being rowed down Indian river through the mangroves is a must and feels like you are travelling back in time. The guides will give you lots of information about the wildlife and local history even point out where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. A trip to Syndicate Trail to see the parrots and wander through the rainforest on a maintained track. There are numerous waterfalls and bathing pools at Milton Falls, Chaudierre pool, Lapluy Falls and Lamothe River Falls, or visit the volcano at Cold Soufriere. The nearest beach is Toucari with its reef snorkelling or the islands largest beach at Purple Turtle with the picturesque anchored yachts. We even have horse-back riding, kayaking, paddle-boarding, sailing, and more, all within walking distance or a short drive away. Caso does a great local boat trip in Toucari bay and offers other trips to local sites.
The cottage is no smoking and no pets.
Hi I am married to Andrew and we are now semi retired. I am a Mum of one son and have a lovely daughter in law and two grandchildren. We have built Treetops this year and it has been a labour of love. We have both been involved in every stage and we are very proud of it. My business career was as a project manager and I also worked most of my life as a professional singer. I now do some Jazz gigs in Dominica and love ' keeping my hand in'. Andrew and I have been coming to Dominica for 8 years now and love the nature and the people. We have made many good friends on the island and it truly feel that is our 2nd home. Our other passions are mainly outdoors. We love sailing in the Mediterranean and to ski the French Alps. When we are home in UK we try to book as many theatre shows as we can. We both try to keep fit and healthy so we can continue to make the most of life. We would like to travel more and have a wish list of places we want to visit.
