Here are reviews posted on Airbnb of the very same apartment Katherine was in written immeditately before Katherine was in it
From Denis Brown (and Jody) who was in the apartment and departed in the morning of the very same day:
We enjoyed our stay very much. Super friendly and helpful. Just outside the town, it provided easy access to the activities but a quiet place to also relax when we wanted.
From Doug and Renata, who were in the same apartment for several months just prior to Denis Brown and then Katherine:
The host Mike and Marisol were very nice and accommodating . The apartment was very clean and spacious with a nice balcony that made for a great morning coffee . The pool and back yard was very relaxing. Being a gated community, the feeling of security in a foreign place was invaluable. A short trip into town by taxi or moto made access to the town of Caberete minutes away. As we stayed for multiple weeks, laundry was a necessity and not having to leave the premises to do a simple task like that enhanced our vacation leaving us one less thing to worry about. As a couple who have traveled to different countries, when the destination is Dominican Republic, this is the place we tell our friends (or anyone we like) to stay.
To summarize our response to Katherine. I recommend to all guests who have problems, no matter where they stay, to speak to the management as soon as possible before to see if their concerns can be addressed.
We live in the same building as the apartment Katherine was in and she made no such attempt. She left without saying a word, leaving the keys in a location other guests could have found them,
and then wanted a refund. You be the judge if you want a guest who displays this type of behavior. We have been renting for 14 years in this location, and this is a first for us.
